Meet the Founder & Owner
Hello! ¡Hola! My name is Diana. I am the founder and owner of Más Libritos Bookstore. I am mostly a nonfiction reader. I am on the Gemini/Cancer cusp. I am a daughter, sister, tía, and dog mom. And I speak Spanglish!
Why Más Libritos Bookstore?
I had been dreaming and manifesting for several years about opening up a bookstore in Springdale. Every out-of-town visit I made always included visiting either a public library or a local bookstore and after visiting a few BIPOC-owned bookstores, I felt inspired and compelled to open up a bookstore here that centers our stories.
Reading has also always played a significant role in my life. It has existed as a space for me to discover, reinvent, disrupt, challenge, and most importantly a space to exist.
This bookstore is dedicated to mi familia, en particular mi madre que siempre me ha animado y me inspira a diario con su fuerza y compasión. On heavy days, she would always say to me, "Tu puedes. Eres una campeona."
I also owe this to my community. To those who have held my dreams and visions about this bookstore. And to the rest of mi comunidad, espero que te sientas seen, heard, and represented y sobre todo, espero que te sientas bienvenida/o/x.
What books/readings have had an impact on my life?
In no particular order: House on Mango Street, The Combahee River Collective Statement, This Bridge Called My Back, Black Feminist Thought: Knowledge, Consciousness, and the Politics of Empowerment, and so many others!
