Riverside Mission/Purpose Statement

The mission of Riverside Elementary is to provide a nurturing, enthusiastic, and safe environment that acknowledges individual differences, encourages community involvement, and emphasizes an ongoing commitment to academic excellence.

Dear Parents,

Riverside will be closed tomorrow due to the threat of snow and wintery weather conditions. This will be a digital learning day for students. Assignments will be posted by 8:30 in the morning. If you have any questions, feel free to email your teacher.

Completing these assignments shouldn't take too long, so I encourage students to get outside, get some exercise, and play in the snow when possible. We'll see you back at school on Monday.

Students loved hearing from 2 of our favorite authors! They learned how books become reality and then were able to ask questions of the authors...and even get their books signed!

All of our students had an author visit this week! Fifth grade students met remotely with Marsha Skrypuch. The students were captivated by her many personal connections which inspired her historical fiction stories.

Katrina Moore visited kindergarten through fourth grade. Students learned about becoming an author, how to generate ideas, and how to develop stories.

Ms. Davis and Ms. Hipple's classes attended a Special Olympics bowling event. These athletes showcased their skill and sportsmanship. They had fun celebrating each other. It was an unforgettable day of achievement and unity.

Please remember if your student is approved for reduced benefits for school meals, they will receive breakfast & lunch at no charge!

Your child's meal includes 1 entree, 2 vegetable sides, 2 fruit sides, and 1 milk. Please encourage them to take what they need to refuel their rocket for the rest of the day! We offer many different fruit and vegetable side options!

Celebrate 100 days of school on January 16! Students who purchase lunch will receive a free frosted cookie. Cookies will also be available to purchase for $1.00. 😀
