In the Super Hero Training Zone
The Super Hero Training Zone has been hopping the past two weeks!
New Teachers
Last week Bellevue Public Schools new teachers made their way to the super hero training zone for some instructional technology training. Teachers revisited their learning from the first training which covered the topic of what makes great learning. Then, they were introduced to digital formative assessment tools to use with their students to help check for understanding and inform their teaching. Lastly, teachers were given time to create assessments to use with their students. It was a great day of learning and collaborating.
iPad Academy
To start this week, Bellevue Public Schools iPad Academy teachers were in the super hero training zone. Greg Boettger kicked off each day of training, followed by a video visit from Apple Distinguished Educator, Matt Lee. Teachers participated in an unplugged activity over the technology integration matrix. They also spent the day collaborating and creating content for the classroom.
Site Visits
We ended the week hosting three site visits. It has been tremendous showcasing our iPad Academy to Gibbon Public Schools elementary and secondary teachers and our Apple Team representatives. We gave our visitors and overview of our successful iPad Academy model and then took them around the district into the classrooms. Over and over again our visitors were amazed by the effective integration of technology, engagement of students, and overall digital workflow.Hour Of Code
Join millions of students and educators around the world for an Hour of Code coming in December. The Hour of Code is part of Computer Science Education Week, December 5th-11th, 2016. The idea is to provide all students with an opportunity to code. Introducing coding to students at an early age gives them the opportunity to develop problem-solving skills, logic and creativity.

Hashtags Telling Our Story
One of the most powerful parts of Twitter is the hashtag! It connects people, ideas, and creates communities within Twitter. It is a unique way for our teachers and administrators to share the amazing things happening in our schools, classrooms, clubs, teams and organizations. Our district hashtag, #bpsne, continues to grow and is becoming a powerful tool that we can leverage as a district to connect all of our teachers, students, parents, and community members. We encourage you to continue sharing the great things happening in your classrooms. Here is a list of all of the Bellevue Public School educators on Twitter.
