SCHOOL INFORMATION
ATTENDANCE
ATTENDANCE MATTERS ALL DAY, EVERYDAY
Regular and punctual school attendance is essential for school success. Attendance increases student achievement and improves the quality of their educational experience. It prepares them for college, good careers, and successful adulthood. Texas Compulsory Attendance Law requires students to attend school regularly, unless otherwise exempted by law. It is the responsibility of the parent and student to cooperate and communicate with the school on all attendance matters.
Prekindergarten and Kindergarten
Students enrolled in prekindergarten or kindergarten are required to attend school and are subject to the compulsory attendance requirements as long as they remain enrolled.
Ages 6–18
State law requires that a student who is at least six years of age, or who is younger than six years of age and has previously been enrolled in first grade, and who has not yet reached their 19th birthday, shall attend school, as well as any applicable accelerated instruction program, extended-year program, or tutorial session, unless the student is otherwise excused from attendance or legally exempt.
State law requires a student in kindergarten–grade 2 to attend any assigned accelerated reading instruction program. Parents will be notified in writing if their child is assigned to an accelerated reading instruction program based on a diagnostic reading instrument.
A student will be required to attend any assigned accelerated instruction program before or after school or during the summer if the student does not meet the passing standards on an applicable subject area state assessment.

Dismissal Procedures:
School dismissal is at 2:50pm.
Car Riders -parents of Car Riders will need a “car rider tag” visible in the front windshield of the car. These will be available at Meet the Teacher and from “car callers” the first week of school. If someone without a tag tries to pick up a student, they will be asked to park in visitor parking and report to the office to check out the student. Please stay in your vehicle while waiting for your student in the car loop.
Parent Walk-Ups will meet the students on the picnic tables in the front of the school. To help ensure the safety of our students, we will not release students in the car rider area to parent walk-ups. Please have an ID ready to show teachers and staff before your student is released to go home.
Please contact the office prior to 2:00pm if you need to change your child’s method of going home. No changes will be made after 2:00 pm to ensure safety of our students. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Families interested in Pre-K should complete the online verification screener for 4-year-olds or for 3-year-olds.
There are seven eligibility requirements. Your child is automatically eligible if they:
- Qualify for free or reduced lunch
- Are or were in foster care
- Are homeless
- Are unable to speak or understand English
- Have a parent who is an active duty member of the armed forces
- Have a parent who was injured or killed while serving on active duty in the armed forces
- Have a parent who’s won the Star of Texas Award (given to peace officers, firefighters, and emergency medical first responders killed or seriously injured in the line of duty)
After completing the online verification screener, families can contact their home campus to make arrangements to have PreK eligibility reviewed and verified.
- Students must enroll at the campus to which their home address is zoned. Upon determination that bilingual or other services are needed for a student, the student will be enrolled at a campus with the appropriate services.
- If you are unsure of your zoned home campus, you may use the interactive boundary map to find your zone.

HEALTH UPDATES
Standard Response Protocols & Campus Emergency Drills
We train our staff and students in the Standard Response Protocols (SRP); Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, Shelter, and Hold. These five simple procedures give our staff and students the tools they need to properly initiate emergency response actions for any emergency that may occur on a campus.
These SRP's are practiced regularly each school year at all campuses in the form of drills. State law actually dictates that number of times each semester each drill has to be practiced. In addition to the SRP Drills, we also have Fire Drills, Severe Weather Drills, Evacuation Drills. All drills are reported by each of the campus administrators to the Pflugerville Fire Department and the PfISD Office of Safety and Emergency Management within 48 hours of the drill.
Each of our SRP's are listed below along with a brief description of the protocol. You can click on the icon of each SRP for more detailed information on each protocol.
PFISD Curriculum Information
PfISD provides families and community with Year at a Glance curriculum documents. Year-at-a-glance documents provide an overview of the course content. They include the scope and sequence for the course, the unit titles for each unit, and the important concepts/skills for each unit.
Parent & Community Partnerships
Pflugerville ISD welcomes partnerships between parents, businesses, organizations, and individuals who want to share their time, talent, and resources to enrich the lives of students.
Like all parts of our community, our schools are stronger when people with diverse backgrounds, skills and passions work together to passionately serve the best interests of our students. If your passion has led you to PfISD, we have a place for you. Below you will learn about all the different ways you can get involved.
