Hello Panther Families!

I hope you are enjoying this important family time during Spring Break! It is during times like these that I get to do some much needed spring cleaning both at home & at school. Hopefully you can channel your spring fever into some much needed fun as well! This newsletter is packed with information about upcoming events and important dates. Be sure to scroll through it entirely.

I would like to take this opportunity, to shout out our excellent PTA Board. PTA President, Bharath Kumar Gadiyaram, Vice President, Chirag Shah, Secretary, Salonee Wilanker, Treasurer, Guangqiang Li, Reflections Chair,Vrushali Phansalkar, Communications Chair, Meeta Seth, Teacher Liaison, Melissa Sides, & Fundraiser Chair, Subhani Shaik. These individuals, I can assure you are just as busy as any parent and yet they have volunteered to be of service. Thank you, with all sincerity for all of your planning, cooperation and kindness! You have made my first year with Patterson so much easier knowing I could depend on all of you to help us in our goals. On behalf of all Patterson students and staff, thank you for supporting us this year! I know that we have enjoyed so many PTA events this year- Fall festival, Happy Birds, Bedtime Story Hour, Popsicles with the Principal, & Bedtime Story Hour to name a few! We are so excited for our new audio equipment that the PTA has paid for as well as teacher classroom supplies & new chrome books that will be ordered as a result of your Read-a-thon dollars!!! Patterson was filled with positivity this year because of parents like you supporting our students and our school community. At our last PTA meeting, a new board was voted in for next year and I have to say...IT LOOKS LIKE AN ALL-STAR LINE-UP !!! Come & get involved! check out the PTA webpage.

Keri Stinson teachers TK/K Special Day Class. Keri started as a Para-educator here at Patterson many years ago. Keri is loving, creative knowledgable & fun! She creates an environment for her students to grow and thrive. She is a leader on our staff and gives her time & energy to everyone around her. Please watch for a “FALL 2023-2024 Reservation/Registration Form” to be mailed home soon for each student currently enrolled in TK – 6 th grades. The form will not be handed out to parents and serves 2 purposes: it reserves a spot for your child next year at Patterson and also fulfills the District’s mandated annual residency verification via USPS. Please don’t mistake the letter for junk mail and toss it out!

For students who will be moving on to Middle School next year, Patterson will collect the form and proofs and communicate with the Thornton Middle School to confirm a space will be reserved for next year. By submitting the required form and Residency Proofs by February 24th, your child will be reserved a space for next year.

*The forms must be returned to the school that your student currently is attending; if you have a student overloaded to another elementary school, please return it there.

We no longer distribute flyers for outside organizations. Instead we use Peachjar for eflyers. You can find the Peachjar button on the district or Patterson webpage. Or use this link. Check this page often as it is updated frequently.

If you need to report your child's absence or have general questions you can call, email or stop by. Our main line is 510-793-0420. If we are helping parents or students we may not be able to answer your call. Please leave a message and we will return your call within 24 business hours. Our office hours are: Monday-Thursday 8:00-3:30 p.m. Friday 8:00-3:00 p.m.
