Our teachers are looking forward to seeing you for Parent/Caregiver/Teacher Conferences! They have been busy preparing student work to show you and are eager for the opportunity to talk with you about your child’s progress. We value this opportunity and time together.

We have much to celebrate upon our return in December: Winter concerts, author visits, and more! Until then, keep reading, Beagles! Enjoy Fall Break!

Thanks to your generosity, we exceeded our goal and have raised four barrels of food that will be donated to Neighborhood House Food Pantry , a local non-profit that supports families in our area! Our Food Drive will run through Monday, November 25th, and we will donate the food on Tuesday, November 26th.

We are excited to celebrate Beagle students who embody our community value of the month. The month of November is all about being Curious, and it's a pleasure to recognize the following students for their demonstration of this trait.

A curious person is someone who has a natural inclination to explore, ask questions, and seek understanding. They are intellectually driven, always looking for new knowledge and experiences.

Bridlemile School Photo Survey

Hello Bridlemile families! We’ve been busy getting fit, learning new skills, and having fun in PE. Our goal every year is to teach and practice as many different skills/activities as possible. At the same time, we are building on and reinforcing the skills returning students have worked on in previous years. This allows your kids to establish a solid foundation of general skills that are transferable between a range of different activities.

Currently we are working on one of the most important skills they can learn - Throwing and Catching! Specifically we’ve been focusing on correct arm position, stepping with our opposite foot when we throw and throwing at a target with accuracy. Throwing and catching skills also happen to be some of our favorite skills to teach because once kids get the hang of the basics we can integrate the skills into so many fun games and activities. Kid favorites are: Champions and Challengers, Move the Hoop, Monster Ball, Hula Hut Throwdown and Sink the Ship. Ask them which ones they like the most!

The Bridlemile PTA

Bridlemile relies on the generosity of our community to fund programs and resources beyond what Portland Public Schools (PPS) provides. Donations are collected and distributed through the Bridlemile PTA and the Bridlemile Foundation. Learn more about each organization and how they support our school below.

Bridlemile PTA

The PTA funds community-building events, classroom supplies, and the Grow Portland garden curriculum.

Additionally, the PTA oversees the Community Outreach Program, which provides holiday meals, clothing, and other financial assistance to Bridlemile families in need, as identified by school staff and administration.

Bridlemile Foundation

The Foundation has previously helped fund staff positions, such as our reading specialist and technology specialist. New rules from PPS eliminate the Foundation’s ability to continue this staffing support beyond the current school year.

As a flexible nonprofit, the Foundation can pivot to meet other school needs, including goals to raise funds for classroom air conditioning units, Chromebook upgrades, and school enrichment programs through community-based events.

Did you know that many employers will match your donations? Check with your HR department or review the list on our Donation page to see if your company participates. You can also find tax IDs and other organizational details there.
