Greetings Kilmer Community,

February is truly a heartfelt month- Random Acts of Caring Week, Valentine's Day, Family Day and Pink Shirt Day all happen in the same few short weeks. At school we will continue learning friendship skills, practising how to show kindness to others and ourselves, and how expressing gratitude helps our minds to be happier, healthier and live with hope.

I am always grateful for the many conversations with parents about school. One thing I appreciate most about the Kilmer Community is the open communication. When parents like what's happening I hear about it and what they appreciate. When parents do not like what's happening I hear about it and learn what could be improved. You may not see me acknowledge this in person, but I often reflect on those conversations and ideas long afterwards and see how I could take action to improve the school.

Another way parents can provide input is to complete the Student Learning Survey. Each year the government puts out a survey that all parents are invited to complete. They also survey the grade fours and invite staff to complete. Please see the link below.
