Traveling to the Tarrant County AgriLife Extension Office:
The entrance to our building is on the West side facing our surface parking lot and Burnett St., it is not on Taylor St. The surface parking lot entrance is on West 2nd Street (Parking will be validated for those participating/staying at an event. Please bring the ticket up with you and we will provide a sticker barcode that scans to get you out free of charge). You will enter the building on the 2nd floor and then take the elevators to the 5th floor where our office is located.

4-H Enrollment Update
All youth and adult leaders need to re-enroll each year. In order to be covered under Texas 4-H Inc. insurance you MUST be ENROLLED! Also, if you are submitting entries for upcoming Major Shows you MUST be re-enrolled.

Tarrant County National 4-H Week Celebration!
“Come celebrate Texas 4-H Night at TCU Volleyball!”
We’ll be hosting a Mini 4-H Camp before the match against Cincinnati on October 7th starting at 3:30! You’ll get to hear from the TCU Athletics Nutrition Staff, play some Camp Games from the Texas 4-H Roadshow, and get rowdy with the Horned Frog Spirit Rally! TCU is also allowing a limited number of youths to "intern" or "shadow" some of the departments that work together to make games a success.

Fall Validation Tag Orders
Fall validation species include: heifers, lambs, goats, and swine. There are some changes with validation this year, they are listed below:
• Please remember to fill out the order form ONE time. If you need to add to your order, call the office. IF YOU HAVE DUPLICATE ORDER, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PURCHASING THE DUPLICATES AS WELL AND THEY MUST BE PAID FOR 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO VALIDATION!
New for 2023
1. Payment for tags that are ordered MUST be received by the Extension office 2 weeks
prior to validation. If we have not received payment prior to validation, you MAY NOT
receive your tag. Payment is due when order is placed!!!
2. Sheep & Goats: Lambs and goats validated in June for State Fair will be eligible for the
2024 spring major shows. Meaning they will not have to be revalidated in October, unless
the following happens.
- Ownership changes
- If a TLBA/TGBA tag is acquired after the June Validation.
- This is for meat goat breeds only. Dairy goats do not have to be state validated!!
3. Heifers: Starting in 2023 heifers will now be receiving an EID tag for validation. Heifers
that are already validated will NOT have to be revalidated. Revalidation is a MUST for the
following reasons:
- Ownership changes
- Breed registration changes
4. Google order form.
- For sheep, goats, and swine we are no longer ordering for either breeding or market
animals. We are going to order as species. (Example if you have 1 breeding sheep and 1
market sheep you will order 2 sheep tags.)

2024 TCJLS Broiler Orders
Broiler Order Dates: October 1 - November 30
NO ORDERS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER 5 PM NOVEMBER 30
- $2/bird with a min of 10 birds (must be ordered in increments of 10)
- TCJLS - broiler pen consists of 3 birds

Globe 2024
GLOBE is a yearlong, multi-faceted program for 4-H members in grades 7th-11th. GLOBE prepares 4-H youth to step out of their comfort zone and view the world from a different perspective. You’ll explore culture, poverty, sustainable farming, and service. Applications are open from September 5-19, 2023, on 4Honline. Youth participants should be prepared to participate in all activities listed below as well as the anticipated costs for each activity.
- Tier I - Texas 4-H Center - October 27-29, 2023 | Anticipated cost: $200
- January Activity - Location TBA - January 13, 2024 | Anticipated cost: $50
- Tier II - Costa Rica Experience - June 22-28, 2024 | Anticipated cost: $2,400
- Four online seminars | Dates and times TBD
- Provide leadership to a service-learning project in their community.
- Provide two educational presentations.
