Foster, kinship, reunified families and former foster youth are eligible to come in and "shop" for items at their Free Store! The stores provide infant to young adult sized clothing, shoes, coats, diapers & wipes, baby accessories and other essentials, at no cost to families. Columbus location also offers additional programming such as such as support groups, respite/parents' day out events, monthly meetup events, seasonal programs and a mentoring & outreach program for former foster youth. Broad Street Food Pantry
🔹BSFP: Provides fresh produce, dairy, protein and shelf stable food (and diapers to children age 0-3 years) once every 30 days to all eligible neighbors. Families who live outside their service area can be served one time with a Temporary Assistance Package of food. Diapers are available to income-eligible families in any zip code during regular pantry hours. They also have free produce giveaways twice a month from May to October, and offers free nutrition education classes.

Project Connect
How can the Project Connect Program help?
Project Connect works with students, parents, Columbus City Schools (CCS) employees, partner agencies, and other local school districts to provide assistance with:
- School selection and enrollment
- Addressing barriers affecting school attendance and full participation
- Book bags and school supplies for students
- Coordination of school transportation
- Obtaining necessary documents such as birth certificates, school records, and medical records
- Dispute resolution regarding school choice and enrollment
Who may qualify for the Project Connect Program?
The term “children and youth experiencing homelessness” means individuals who lack a fixed, regular and adequate night-time residence. It includes those who are:
- sharing the housing of other persons due to loss of home, economic hardship, or similar reason
- living in motels or hotels
- staying in trailer parks or campgrounds due to the lack of alternative adequate accommodations
- living in emergency or transitional shelters
- abandoned in hospitals
- living on their own, such as youth who have run away or have been put out of their home
How do families access homeless services through CCS?

🔹To increase access to COTA’s services for customers who need them most, they offer discounted fares to customers who receive income assistance. Through the Income Assistance Program, eligible customers have access to half-price fares. Columbus City Schools is partnering with the COTA to provide supplemental transportation services for all CCS students in grades 9-12 only. Gladden Community House
🔹They are a settlement house located in Franklinton near the West Side of Columbus, Ohio. They provide emergency financial assistance (e.g., rent, utilities, prescriptions, and other critical needs), offers access to a mobile medical unit access from The Breathing Association, and case management services. Provides emergency food assistance to households living within the service area (zip codes 43222, 43223, and 43215). Other services available at the pantry are: home delivery to people with disabilities, and diapers are available. They also provide educational services such as preschool, after-school, summer day camp and team sport programming.

Home for Families (HFF)
🔹Serves children and their families living in poverty, helping them to get housing and resources, while providing educational after-school/summer programming and support for kids grades K-8. They also host Supporting Partnerships to Assure Ready Kids (SPARK), a program for three and four-year-old children, not enrolled in Pre-K, who
will soon enter Kindergarten.
