Irish Gifted Academy
Week of December 2nd, 2024
Hey IGA Family!
I hope each of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with love, laughter, and gratitude. This special season allows us to reflect on our blessings, and I am so thankful for the incredible students, staff, and families that make our school such a warm and inspiring community.
Before the break, we shared one of my favorite events of the year—our Thanksgiving meal together as a school family. It was truly heartwarming to see our students, staff, and some of our Local School Governance members come together to enjoy a meal and celebrate the spirit of the season. These moments of connection remind us of the importance of community and the joy of sharing gratitude with those around us.
As we return from the break, we find ourselves in the final stretch of the semester. With only two and a half weeks remaining, let’s commit to finishing strong! This week, we will be conducting our common formative assessments for the second nine weeks (K-8), as well as Acadience testing (P-4), to track the progress our students are making. The Beacon assessment (K-8) will be administered the following week. These assessments provide valuable insights, allowing us to tailor instruction to meet the needs of each student through both acceleration and remediation. Please join us in encouraging your child to give their best effort, as these results help us shape their educational journey.
Additionally, I am thrilled to announce our Students of the Month for November! The character trait for this month was gratitude, and these students were selected for consistently demonstrating thankfulness, kindness, and a positive attitude:
Pre-K: Luna Castro and Amir Rozier
Kindergarten: Sutton Cochran and Winsley Tanner
1st Grade: Birdie Shuman
2nd Grade: Brielle Evans
3rd Grade: Kelis Lordge
4th Grade: Thomas Jones
5th Grade: Si Savage
6th Grade: Raya Fluker
7th Grade: Suleyma Cano
8th Grade: Brayden Moore
Congratulations to these outstanding students for leading by example and embodying the spirit of gratitude throughout November. We also want to give a shout out to our Staff Member of the Month, Ms. Glover!
Thank you for your continued support as we work together to make the most of these final weeks. I look forward to seeing all the growth and success our students will achieve as we close out this semester.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Mr. Taylor
