Weekly Update for Meadows
8/12/22
What an amazing first week of school! The energy on campus has been really positive amongst students and staff. We have high expectations for student learning and this year is already proving to be a strong one.
Over the last few days, teachers have been collaborating with our students to set up classroom charters using the district-adopted RULER program so every person on campus
In addition, teachers have gone over campus guidelines and expectations as well as our Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS) program so students can start earning points to receive rewards for following our RAMS expectations: being respectful, accountable, mindful, and safe.
Thank you for trusting us to educate and care for your amazing children.

Badges
This year, all students will be receiving a new student ID badge. These badges can be used by students year after year and follow them when they promote from elementary to middle or transfer to another Madison school. The school name and student photos are not printed on badges so that they can be reused each year.
Students will be given to students on Monday morning and can be used by students for the following:
Transportation will be using the badges for riders this year (rollout will happen in the next week or two). This should alleviate calls that schools get when students get on the wrong bus or off at the wrong stop.
A parent app will be available later this year that allows parents to see where their bus is at and know when their kids are approaching their stop.
The barcode on the badges can be used at the cafeteria register and in the library.
Students who lose their badges may have a new one printed by the librarian at no charge during this school year. Starting next year, the replacement cost for a lost badge is $5.

Breakfast and Lunch at School
Even though the federal program to support free meals for all students has been discontinued, it’s really important that all of our students get the food they need to feel satisfied, happy and focused. One of the things that help us provide meals for every student is ensuring that ALL of our families complete this application even if they don’t think they qualify. https://family.titank12.com/application/new?lang=English
Did you know Titan offers a “Feed it Forward” account which allows families to add an additional amount to their meal account payment to help provide meals to other children. This will allow Madison to collect donations into a school account and use the funds to help more students purchase meals.

MAP testing on Tuesday & Friday
Our students will be taking their first of three benchmark MAP tests this week. All students will take the reading benchmark test on Tuesday morning and the math benchmark test on Friday morning. Please make sure your student arrives at school on time, well-rested, and well-fed!
Grade Level Websites
In order to streamline communication, we have asked all teachers to update a combined grade level site. Teachers will be updating this every single week so you can support your student in being accountable… a skill necessary for future success!
