Message from Mrs. Hernandez

It has been a great week at Evans!! Everyone looked great taking their yearbook pictures. Do not worry if your student missed today we will have a picture makeup day on September 13.

The 1st progress reports are due next Friday Aug 30. Please be sure you are checking HAC with your students. If you have any questions or concerns you can contact your students teacher. If you are having any issues accessing HAC please contact Paula Lough at plough@mckinneyis.net.

TWIN DAY!!! Next Friday August 30 our students have voted during panther time to be twin day! Can not wait to see all the fun!

Student Planners: Every student has received a planner from their advisory teacher. We have extra planners available for purchase at $5.00 each, in case they lose theirs during the year. If your student needs a replacement, they can buy one from Holly King in the front office.

Reminders:

Campus Hours: 8:15 AM - 4:15 PM

Please note that visitors will not be allowed on campus before 8:15 AM. If you require assistance before this time, please schedule an appointment in advance.

Carpool Arrival: Students should not be dropped off before 8:15 AM, as there will be no supervision available prior to this time.

Early Pickup: Students cannot be checked out after 3:15 PM.

Carpool Dismissal: Thank you for your continued support in making the process smoother. If your student has not yet come outside, you are welcome to park in the parking lot and wait. Please avoid parking in the red or blue lanes, as this disrupts the traffic flow.

Dress Code

Please ensure that your student is following the MISD Student Dress Code daily. If a student comes to school in something that does not meet the MISD dress code, a change of clothing will be needed.

Here are a few friendly reminders of things to consider for your Panther. Full Student Dress Code linked below.

Student ID badges are required on all secondary campuses. (Starting September 9th)
Spaghetti straps, tube tops, exposed midriff or cleavage, halter-type blouses, mesh/see through shirts, tank tops, muscle shirts, basketball jerseys must be worn with an appropriate garment, (i.e. T-shirt)

If tights, leggings, or other form-fitting pants are worn, the buttocks and pelvic region must be covered at all times by a dress, shirt, skirt, or shorts.
Yoga pants, jeggings, leggings, tights, exercise/training sportswear, or excessively tight pants or form fitting pants; the buttocks and pelvic region must be covered at all times by a dress, shirt, skirt, or shorts.

Attention Parents of 8th Graders

If you are interested in your 8th grader taking High School Online Health, Professional Communications or PE , please contact your counselor. Cathy DeLisle (last names A-K), cdelisle@mckinneyisd.net or Patricia Spear (last names L-Z), pspear@mckinneyisd.net. Tuition is $225 per class or $50 if you receive free or reduced lunch. Course can be begin as soon as payment is received and must be completed by January 6th

Congratulations to Coach Smith for winning the Impact Award! Her highly engaging lessons and deep connections with students have sparked a true love for learning math in her classroom. Her collaboration and dedication have set the stage for an incredible school year, and this award is a testament to the positive difference she's making. Well-deserved, Coach Smith!

PALS

The PALS started a food collection this week during lunches. They are collecting unopened imperishable items that can be saved from being thrown away and given to students that need it.

Parents you place all school picture orders online by using the school access code listed in the information below. After placing your order, you will receive an email confirmation, which will complete your transaction. You Do NOT need to send any paperwork with their student on picture day. If you needs assistance placing a order, please call customer service at 972.334.9140. They will be happy to get them taken care of!!
