Power Notes--Stay Connected!
Preparing for School Edition
Vision: At CRMS we create a supportive environment where students achieve academic success, develop life skills, and build confidence for the future!
We're Almost Back
Greetings, Colonel Richardson Middle School families!
I hope this message finds you well and enjoying the last couple of weeks of summer. As we approach the start of the new school year on August 28th, I wanted to take a moment to share our excitement and enthusiasm for what lies ahead.
Our 12-month staff has been hard at work preparing the building and pouring over the logistics and other behind-the scenes activities to make sure that students and other staff walk into a very clean, ready to go building! New teachers arrived on August 13th and got right to work on learning the ins and outs of CRMS. Veteran teachers will arrive on August 21st and all instructional staff will be ready to welcome your children on the 1st day of school with engaging lessons, new opportunities, and a supportive environment. We are committed to providing a safe and enriching experience for all students, and we can't wait to see their faces light up as they reconnect with friends and embrace new learning challenges.
In the days leading up to the first day of school, please keep an eye out for important updates and information. We'll be sharing details about class schedules, bus routes, and any other pertinent information to help you and your child transition smoothly into the new school year.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Together, we can make this school year one of the best yet!
We wish you well,
Dr. Yolanda Holloway, Principal

Counselors' Message
Students can experience a great range of emotions from excitement to anxiety when thinking about returning to school. It’s important to have conversations with your students so that you know how to best support them through any of these feelings.
If we can support you in any way as we return from our summer break and as we get to know your students, please reach out to us by phone or email.

Nurse's Health Message--Immunizations Update
Welcome back!
My name is Laura Brittingham and I'll be your nurse at CRMS! I started out as Covid Tracer in 2021 with the County and shortly after transitioned to school nurse floating around the different schools in Caroline County. I’m excited to join the CRMS family and get to know your kiddos! Below is a list of helpful links to help me keep your child healthy and safe this school year.
Beginning of the school year helpful documents:
If your child will need daily medication administered during the school day.
If your child will need any Tylenol, Motrin, inhaler, or any sort of medication on an “as need” basis
These forms MUST be filled out and signed by a doctor along with a parent/guardian signature.
A new form is required each school year. Even if your child had one last school year, they will need a new form filled out.
Important reminders for 7th graders: shot records are needed for proof of Tdap vaccine.
Back To School Night is a great time for any questions, concerns, or medication drop off!
Have a great rest of your summer!
Nurse Laura
