The Importance of Good Attendance
Massachusetts defines chronically absent as missing 10 percent of days enrolled. That means that if a student misses just 2 days each month, they would be considered “chronically absent”!
Regular attendance (that includes being on-time and staying through the end of the day) is one of the most important factors influencing a child's ability to succeed in school and contributes greatly to their sense of belonging and connectedness.
While we would never want anyone to come to school when they are not feeling well, we ask that you help your middle schooler to develop these positive habits now, and come to school everyday.
Thank you!
