Lest We Forget!
November is a time when we not only turn our clocks back an hour but also take a moment to honor the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve in our military, protecting our freedoms. Their sacrifices are a testament to their courage and dedication. Last year, Afghanistan veteran and retired helicopter trainer and pilot, Wil Lozie, shared a poignant message: “We all have a choice every day to choose conflict or cooperation.” This thought-provoking statement serves as a reminder that the decision to collaborate with others necessitates kindness, active listening, a willingness to lend a helping hand, empathy, effective communication, and respect. As individuals with diverse life experiences, we are all striving to cultivate a welcoming, positive, and nurturing learning environment for our students. Thank you for your partnership in this endeavor—Every Student, Every Day, a Success!
Parents/guardians are to communicate directly with their child's teacher if they have questions about their child’s programming, behavior, or other classroom related concerns. Battle River School Division respects our employees’ wellness. If you plan on communicating with teachers or school administration by telephone or email, remember that they are only available between 6 am and 6 pm Monday to Friday and will reply at their earliest practical opportunity.
We celebrated 70 students' academic, athletic and character excellence at the grade 9 to 12 award ceremony on October 24, 2024. We want to thank the awards committee for the many hours organizing, completing calculations, contacting community sponsors, redesigning and printing certificates, decorating, setting up the live stream and more. We want to thank the parents for all that they do to encourage their child to do their best each day and persevere through challenges, as well as driving to practices, games and tournaments and being active partners with the school. This partnership resulted in so many students excelling. Thank you to the many Tofield businesses that offer scholarships to our students.
As we approach the fall break next week, we encourage everyone to take this time to rest and recharge. It's an opportunity to step back, relax, and prepare for the second half of semester one. We hope you enjoy your time off and look forward to our students' return on November 18, 2024, refreshed and ready to continue their academic journey.
