School Counselors' news:
Teachers have started posting grades in Aeries. Please check your student's Aeries portal at least once a week to monitor their progress. Encourage them to submit any missing work their teacher will still accept and have them attend Study Hall or Mission Zero if you see their grades dropping. Students are required to maintain a GPA of at least 1.5 to participate in the 8th grade promotion ceremony, so it is best to catch and address any issues as soon as possible
PEERS is a 16 week program designed to improve social skills and social interactions among teens with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The group meets every Tuesday after school starting September 10th. If you are interested in having your child participate or want to learn more about the program, contact Mrs. Kemp at ckemp@lodiusd.net or Mrs. Gonzalez at augonzalez@lodiusd.net.
The 7th grade lunch bunch group will be meeting weekly and offer students a laid back environment where they can play games, have fun, and get to know one another better. This group is a great way for students to get connected and make new friends. If your student is interested in joining, please contact Mrs. Gonzalez at augonzalez@lodiusd.net.
The 8th Grade Lunch Bunch group meets daily during lunch to provide a supportive and calm environment for students dealing with anxiety. Contact Mrs. Kemp at ckemp@lodiusd.net for more information or to sign-up.

SchooLinks
Dear Parents/Guardians of Middle School and High School students,
We are very excited to introduce our new college and career readiness platform, SchooLinks!
All of the SchooLinks features are designed with students in mind to help them become career, college, and life-ready. As guardians, you will have access to SchooLinks through your own account. This allows you to join your students in their career and college exploration process and discuss their future with them.
SchooLinks allows you to have informed conversations with your students by:
- Viewing your student’s career interest, strength, and mindset assessments
- Seeing what colleges and careers your student has favorited
- Comparing college costs and explore expected financial aid, scholarships, and out-of-pocket expenses
See this document to learn more about how to access your account.
For additional information regarding the platform's benefits, please join us at the district’s College and Career Night, on August 27th at McNair High School.

Facilities
We continue to be a construction zone...
- Our drop off lane now has a crosswalk right smack in the middle. This slows traffic flow and puts kids into the middle of the parking lot without supervision. We are encouraging kids not to cross there without a parent. Instead, they should enter the lot from the side near the church.
- We are in the middle of getting a large shade structure over the courtyard, space is tight. This will improve soon
- Two new portables are in but surplus furniture is stacked in various places around campus. We are working on a plan for removal

Reminder:
Our goal is to make middle school as enjoyable and engaging as possible. We want to instill good academic habits while helping to build confidence, resilience, and the ability to accept direction and feedback. Please partner with us during these two years of growth. Together, we can work towards the betterment of your child and our community.
See you soon!
