Principal's Updates
Dear Maple West Community,
We can't believe that 2024 is coming to an end! As we say goodbye to 2024 and welcome 2025, we have much to be thankful for and excited about for the new year. We hope that you and your families have a wonderful winter recess and a happy and healthy holiday season. We are looking forward to seeing everyone in the new year!
Upcoming NYS Computer-Based Testing in May
This spring, our 3rd and 4th grade students will take the New York State (NYS) computer-based assessments for English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics. The tests will be administered during the first few weeks of May. While this is a new format for our students, we are not concerned about the change. In fact, we are confident that our students will adapt easily, and to help ensure their success, we will provide typing practice and other support in class. The computer-based format offers a more interactive testing experience, while assessing the same content as the traditional paper-based tests.
WITS Notification 3-8 Testing
The NYS testing reports are now available to parents/ guardians in WITS. If your children participated in these assessments, you will find the link(s) to the assessment letters on the home page of WITS. Results may also be found on the assessment tab in WITS.
As always, please feel free to reach out to us at any time!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Wendling and Mrs. Kubera
Kate Wendling, Principal
Lindsey Kubera, Assistant Principal
