Good Times @ EPE
Newsletter - February 3rd 2025
We wanted to say a huge thank you to our organizing committee for the Jake Anstey Tournament this past weekend. It was an unbelievably well organized and run tournament, and an opportunity for us to remember Jake and the amazing qualities he brought to our school and the positivity and determination he showed in life. Our student athletes represented the school beautifully and it was a great chance for us to join as a community and celebrate Jake. Thank you to everyone who was involved in making this such a success, especially to Jake's family for coming out to join us in remembering Jake.

Staff Appreciation Week
Next week (February 10th to 15th) is Staff Appreciation Week at the school. We are so lucky to have such an amazing team here at the school to help guide our students each and every day. From our teachers, to our students assistants, to our TLA's, custodians and the wonderful Ms. Engram and Ms. Frost, we have a team of people in the building who care so deeply about our students. We are hoping to make this week extra special for the staff. They have truly gone above and beyond this year to ensure that our students have the best possible experience at school and that students know that they are cared for.
If you were interested in showing support, we have included a few ideas below. Thank you, in advance, for supporting our amazing staff.
Bell Let's Talk Overview and Pictures
We took the opportunity this past week to set a challenge for our Grade 6 Learners on Bell Let's Talk Day to think about the actions they can take when they are having a challenging day. This is especially important as we work through the dark days of January. The discussions were rich and the subsequent posters show a real understanding of the discussions we had. We have a few examples below and we are so proud of our Grade 6 students for their fantastic work on these.
Pink Shirt Day
Pink Shirt Day takes place on Wednesday, February 26th. On this day, we will be encouraging students to wear pink. If you would like to purchase a pink shirt, please visit our online store below. Deadline for orders is Sunday, February 9th.
Diversity Presentations
We were so lucky over the last week to have Rachel Warren and her team from Easter Seals to talk to us about diversity, access and the inclusion work that they do at Easter Seals. the students thoroughly enjoyed the presentations and learned so much!
