Saddle Up for Kindergarten Roundup!

The transition to kindergarten can be intimidating for children and parents alike. Kindergarten Roundup is designed to foster positive relationships between children and teachers, parents and teachers, and parents and administrators. Further, children have the opportunity to meet and get to know some of their classmates and the school building before the start of kindergarten. It is a wonderful way to ease into the transition and alleviate stress for both parents and children.

At SIES, our Kindergarten Roundup will be offered during two sessions (7:50 - 10:00 am and 10:20 am -12:30 pm) on 4 different dates: July 17th, 18th, 30th, and 31st. All rising Kindergarten students are encouraged to register for one of these dates. Please only select ONE for the number attending on the signup....you are only registering your child. This will keep our counts accurate. Indicate your child's name when signing up. If he/she goes by a different name, please use that name, as this will be used to create name tags.

During these sessions, students will interact with other children in fun "Western themed" activities and stations, providing them an opportunity to familiarize themselves with what Kindergarten is all about! Additionally, Kindergarten teachers will be working with children one-on-one to complete brief Math and Reading assessments. These assessments will ensure that teachers are ready to meet the individual needs of ALL children, even on the first day of school!

While children are busy working and playing, all parents are invited to attend an orientation session with administration to learn more about SIES. Parents will receive a copy of the family handbook, learn some important procedures, and have an opportunity to join our parent groups. At the conclusion of the parent orientation, you will be instructed to drive through the carpool line to pick up your child. This provides an opportunity for both you and your child to experience the carpool line prior to the first day!
