Woodland Elementary Newsletter
END OF YEAR 2024
PRINCIPALS MESSAGE
As I wrap up my first school year at Woodland Elementary School, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you for your support and partnership. This newsletter provides important information as we look ahead to the next school year.
- Thank You Notes:
- A big thank you to all our parent volunteers who helped make our events successful.
- Thank you guardians for your open communication in supporting your learners.
- Volunteer Highlights:
- Special thanks to all the volunteers for their dedication and hard work working with students on reading, supporting teachers, conference help, recess supervision and more. We love to have families in the building.
- Support Staff:
- WES would not be what it is without the amazing support staff that work tirelessly everyday to help ALL of our learners. Thank you for being a part of this excellent school.
Summer Learning is IMPORTANT! This summer continues to give opportunities to practice what students have learned in the classroom.
Examples are:
1) Introducing a summer reading program and/or visiting the Douglas County Library regularly
2) Math skills in the grocery store or cooking
3) Riding a bike, walking, and playing catch
4) Learning about nature through garden activities
5) Doing a DIY project
6) Writing letters and addressing envelopes to family members and mailing them
We are so proud of our 5th graders and they will do amazing things at DMS. We are excited to welcome our new group of learners in the fall!
Enjoy the time together and thank you!
