IMPORTANT REMINDERS
EARLY PICK-UP
Parents, please remember that 3:50 pm is the cut-off time to check out your student. If you need to check out your student for an appointment that is past this cut-off time or might be, please send your student with a note or complete & print the Early Pick-up form and have them bring it the front office before school starts the day of the appointment. They will receive a pass to leave class at the time you have requested and will be in the front office waiting for you. This will save you lots of time! Be sure to bring your ID. Only those you have listed on the your student's school information will be able to check your student. This will save you time. We cannot accept phone and/or email requests to release your student early. Thank you.
We will not release any student to an adult that is not currently listed on the Emergency contacts on our system. Due to the high volume of sign-outs, we will not be able to update the system. It will take at least two business days to update the system. If you choose to pick your student up early be prepared for long wait times. If you must pick up your student, send your student to the front office before school starts with a note OR a completed, printed, signed Early Pick-up form. We will issue a pass to them for them to come the front office at the time you requested. Be sure to bring a valid ID. No emails or phone calls to release a student will be accepted.
NO PARKING IN THE RED FIRE LANE
Parents, please do not park on the red fire lane in front of the school. This is reserved for FIRE and RESCUE services. This is also the drop-off and pick-up for BUSES. **If there is no parking available, please park in the faculty parking lot (across the football field) and walk around to the front of the school.
ATTENDANCE REMINDERS
- Parents, remember you may monitor your student's attendance & updates in Home Access (HAC). If you haven't already, to set up Home Access Center go to https://roundrockisd.org/hac/
- If you turned in a note for your student, please allow about a week for the system to update at this time. We are currently behind and working as fast as we can to enter the notes.
- A parent, or legal guardian, must provide an explanation for any absence upon the student’s arrival or return to school. The student’s parent or guardian must communicate with the school the reason for the student’s absence through a dated written note, signed by the parent or guardian, phone call, email, or through an approved district method of communication. **NOTE: This communication must be received by the school within five days of the student’s return to school.**
- If your student feels ill during the day, he/she must go to the school nurse. We do not allow students to call their parents to pick them up without having seen the nurse first.
- Anytime you check out your student early, that does not count as a note for the absence. The student’s parent or guardian must communicate with the school the reason for the student’s absence through a dated written note, signed by the parent or guardian, phone call, email, or through an approved district method of communication.
- Tardy – A student is 1-10 minutes late to class. A Tardy Calculator system is in place. When a tardy is recorded, parents will receive an email immediately alerting them of the tardy.
A student is considered tardy to class if he/she is outside of the classroom without a hall pass when the tardy bell rings.
State law requires students to be in attendance 90% of the days the class meets. A student who attends at least 75% but fewer than 90% may receive credit for the class if he or she completes a plan, approved by the Principal that allows the student to fulfill the instructional requirements for the class.
Unexcused Absence – A student is 11+ minutes or more late to a class. Or a student was not in class at all that class period or day. At the end of the day parents will receive an email alerting them of the absence.
