Attention Parents/Guardians:
Your student will have an opportunity to increase their awareness of their social and emotional behaviors through completing a social, academic and behavior screener. The screener, mySAEBRS, will ask students a total of 21 questions and will be completed in under 10 minutes. The student’s teacher will also complete a similar screener, SAEBRS, based on their observations of their students. This screener will allow school staff to identify universal and targeted areas for growth focused on students' ability to regulate their emotions, develop positive relationships, and make positive decisions. This screener is done twice a year. The first round of the SAEBERS/mySAEBRS will take place the week of November 13th.
If you would like to opt your child out of the screening process please complete this opt out form by November 9th. Feel free to contact Sydnee Milis with any questions or for more information.

NEW Zoo & Adventure Park Volunteer Opportunities
The NEW Zoo & Adventure Park is currently in great need of volunteers to help with a variety of experiences, including things like giraffe and children’s zoo feedings, assisting with large zoo events (such as the upcoming “Zoo Boo!”), running the carousel, routine cleaning and maintenance, animal encounters, and much more. The zoo accepts volunteers as young as 8 years old with chaperone assistance, and those ages 15+ can be here on their own. Volunteering at the zoo is a great opportunity for families, individuals, and groups of all sizes, and opportunities are available for both one-time and continuing experiences.
Unlike most accredited zoos in the country, the NEW Zoo is fully self-funded and does not receive any tax support for operations. This means their budget is small and they rely on the community for support! The NEW Zoo is dedicated to conservation and education. Supporting the NEW Zoo helps us achieve our mission of connecting our community with wildlife and nature. To learn more:
