FROM THE PRINCIPALS
GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS
Build-a-Bike Program
Over the past few weeks, CMIT South Middle School enrichment students have actively participated in a hands-on STEM program, immersing themselves in the engineering and mechanics of bicycle construction. Through this engaging experience, students not only learned the fundamentals of building a bike but also gained valuable problem-solving and teamwork skills.
Gearin’ Ups Build-A-Bike is a six-week program designed to empower youth with essential bicycle repair skills while fostering a passion for cycling and community service. Each class session focuses on different aspects of bicycle maintenance, gradually building participants' knowledge and confidence in bike mechanics.
At the conclusion of the program, students proudly took home the very bikes they worked on, along with a helmet and lock generously donated by our dedicated business partners. Mrs. Caple-Price and Ms. Monroe is excited to share an overview of the students' learning journey, highlighting their achievements and showcasing a few snapshots of their hard work and success.
