Dear St. Luke Families,

Welcome back! I hope you all enjoyed a safe and happy summer and were able to spend time with your families. We are excited to welcome you all back to a wonderful new school year. Each week our SMORE will come out to keep you up to date on the latest information from St. Luke, EICS division, OLPH Parish and our School Council. Back to School Prayer:

Dear Jesus, thank You for holiday times when we have freedom to spend quality time with family and friends and to take a break from the daily routine of school and curriculum based work. Thank You for the fun times we have all enjoyed, and now that we are about to start a new term at school, we pray that You would continue to be with us, to help and encourage in all we say and do.

Help us to settle back into the daily routine of school work and give us a heart that desires to learn, a brain that is able to retain what is needful and the ability to dismiss that which is not edifying or necessary for health or wholeness.

Fill our hearts and minds with Your truth and light, and hold us steady in the palm of Your hand as You have promised. Keep us from every sort of danger throughout each day, and may we seek to love You more and serve You better with every passing day. In Jesus' name we pray,

On August 30th and 31st we will begin our school year with a staggered entry. Only half of our students will be attending on Tuesday and the other half on Wednesday. This allows teachers a chance to get to know their students and organize them before the whole class is together.

Thursday and Friday will be full days.

Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten will have staggered entry August 30th and September 1st.

As we are coming to the end of the school year a few items need to be completed in Powerschool.

• This year’s school fees are past due. Please ensure your account is up to date

• Demographic confirmation form needs to be up to date so that we have the most accurate information.

If there are any changes to registration for next year please let the office know by calling 780-922-5920 ASAP. This will help us as we plan for the new school year.

Kindergarten Program

Independence, initiative, decision making, creativity, the ability to learn, relationships and feelings of self-worth - all have their beginnings in early childhood. We believe that each child is unique and, together with parents as our partners, we build upon children's natural curiosity and spontaneity, encouraging and supporting them as they take their first step into school. To register for Kindergarten in the 2022-2023 school year, your child must be 5 years old by December 31, 2022. This program will run Tuesday/Thursday and alternating Fridays. Pre-Kindergarten Program

The St. Luke Pre-Kindergarten program is a Catholic faith infused, student-centered, play-based program in a literacy and numeracy rich learning environment. Our Pre-Kindergarten program supports all students to learn and grow by working alongside our experienced and caring staff. Our Pre-Kindergarten program is taught by a knowledgeable and caring certified teacher and strives to ensure all students enjoy their first school experience and are excited to work and learn with their friends. Children must be 4 years old by December 31, 2022. Please note there is a $300.00/month cost to attend this program. This program will run Tuesday/Thursday and alternating Fridays.

KinderPlus Program

St. Luke will be offering an optional full day, fee-based program, Kinder Plus, to complement our Tuesday/Thursday Kindergarten program.This program will meet the needs of families and children by providing a full day instruction running on the opposite days of our Kindergarten program: Monday/Wednesday and alternating Fridays. Kinder Plus will complement the Kindergarten program through the enhancement of skills such as problem solving, social interactions and project based learning. Please contact the office for more information and for registration instructions.

All families who require transportation for the 2022-2023 school year are asked to go online, request, and set up payment arrangements. You will need to arrange payment in order for transportation to be set up for your child. Once all library books and resources have been returned any school fee reimbursement can be applied towards transportation. If you need help please refer to the PDF attached or call the school and Mrs. Rumley will help you.

Below are the links to your child's supply list for the 2021-2022 school year. Students in grade 4 and up will also need to include a technology device as part of EICS's one-to-one technology program. You can choose to order your school supplies from Staples Tools for Schools program or from any other retailer. Staples Back-to-School Shopping season prices will be reflected from July 14 onwards.
