2024-2025 Community Newsletter 6th Edition (January)
Fellow Mustangs,
I hope you all had a wonderful and joyous Christmas, filled with much-needed family time and cherished moments together. As we gear up for the second semester, things are about to get fast and furious, but I’m confident we’ll tackle it together with the same dedication and energy that makes City View special.
I want to challenge each of you to make reading a priority at home. Let's spend 20 minutes each night reading with our children. Let’s make this a consistent part of your nightly routine. To support this, each child from Kindergarten through second grade, as well as some third graders, should have received reading folders we handed out earlier this year. These folders are a valuable tool to guide your reading time and help your child grow as a reader.
This month, we have some exciting events on the horizon. Our Attendance Field Trip to the movies is coming up later this month, and we’ll also begin our Middle of the Year MAP Testing. Please be looking for letters in backpacks to those students who have qualified for the attendance field trip. If you think your student qualified, but did not receive a letter, please contact us at the school. During the winter season, we are continuing our practice of opening the doors for students at 7:20 a.m. If you need to drop off your child earlier due to work schedules, we’ve got you covered! Students can sit in the hallways under staff supervision until the bell rings at 7:30 a.m.
Additionally, we’ll be handing out House Shirts to each student this month. Please be looking for these t-shirts coming home with students. Students will wear shirts every Thursday. We appreciate your patience as we have worked through this process, it’s just one more way we aim to build school spirit and unity. Once again, thank you for providing this opportunity for us to build a school wide inclusive culture through your generous giving through fundraising.
Thank you for an incredible first semester! It’s a true joy and privilege to serve as one of City View’s school leaders. Together, we’ve made City View a great place, and we will continue striving to be the best school in North Texas.
As always City View, let’s continue to take care of each other!
Much Love,
