REMOTE OFFICE HOURS:

We will be available for parent/student support primarily via district email Monday through Friday 8:00 - 12:00 a.m. and 12:30 - 3:00 p.m.

• Please contact your child's teacher if you are having difficulty with accessing assignments.
  
• Kindergarten and 1st grade should complete packets daily.
  
• On eLearning days, students in grades 2-6 will work virtually from home. Students will have regular assigned classwork and their teachers will be available electronically during virtual office hours (Elementary: 9:00-11:00 & 1:00-3:00).
  
• Students should be completing all assignments daily in their teacher's google classroom. Please check your child's classrooms to ensure all the work is done each day.
• Reading Renaissance will be available for students to take an AR test at home starting Friday, March 20. This not required but it is an option.
  

All students without Chromebooks received a learning packet with 2 weeks of work. As students finish week 1 we are preparing an easy drop-off and pick up system at the school where parents can easily access new packets while returning their child's completed work. You may drop packets off as early as today. However, I designated time for drop off will be next Friday, March 27, parents may drop off their child's completed packets at the front door of the cafeteria in their designated grade level bins that are labeled K, 1, and 2-6 will be combined. At that time you will be able to receive the new packets between 9:00-1:00.

Thank you all so much for your patience during these unprecedented times. Unfortunately, we had to cancel the pick-up times this week. Nonetheless, your World's Finest Chocolate will be available for pick up starting Monday, March 23rd and Tuesday the 24th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The designated spot for pickup is in the carline at the front door to the cafeteria. APT will deliver your chocolate bags to you in the carline. It is imperative that your chocolate is picked up by Tuesday, March 24th of this week due to school closure and the limited amount of people with access to the building. Stay safe and thank you for your support. If you have any questions, please call the school at 843-664-8463.

This week we have kicked off our Kids Heart Challenge. (Formerly known as Jump Rope for Heart) Our focus is to help our friends and family with heart and stroke disease and to instill heart healthy habits in our students. Heart Disease is 80% preventable! We are having a contest to see which classes will have the most kids registered and taking one of the challenges of being kind and moving more! Please register your child at heart.org/KHC and look for our school or Download the free Kids Heart Challenge App! Please invite your family and friends in our fight against heart disease! If 50% of our children take the challenge, our school will receive $500 via US games for our PE program, our winning teacher at each grade level will receive a $25 gift card for school supplies and your students will receive a free powerband just for taking the challenge in addition to prizes for their donations. Watch for your envelope to come home! Thank you for your support! Together we can save and change lives. Next week I will let you know which class is in the lead!!!

We will continue utilizing our Instagram and Facebook Page this year to showcase all our positive school wide activities. The intent of this forum is to maintain a positive school climate and promote the great things happening at Savannah Grove Elementary.
