Kid's Heart Challenge
It’s Kid's Heart Challenge time! This year, our goal is to raise $5,000 for the American Heart Association! We can reach our goal with the help of all the fantastic families here at Arbor View! Just like last year, our fundraiser will be completely online. Starting Thursday, February 20th, if you choose to participate, you can go to http://www2.heart.org/goto/arborviewelementary, sign up for our school, and do your fundraising online. All fundraising ends on March 6th. The prizes will take a few weeks to come in after our end date, once they arrive, I will hand them out. If we reach our $5,000 goal, the top 5 fundraisers will get to silly string Ms. Willms in front of the whole school during the Tug-O-War Championship on Field Day! The class that raises the most will get to select a dress day for the school! Thank you in advance for helping raise money for a great cause! If you have any questions, you can email me at awillms@epsne.org. -Miss. Willms

In February we are learning about and practicing Gratitude. Practicing Gratitude has a positive impact on our mental health and decreases stress. Look for ways to practice Gratitude as a family!
Attendance Matters
Good Habits
Missing school, at any grade level, can have a big impact. It can be difficult for learners to catch up on missed concepts and classroom routines. Establishing good attendance habits from the start sets students up for success!
Make Every Day Count
Good attendance is essential for academic success! Students who attend school regularly are more likely to stay on track with their learning, build strong relationships with their peers, and develop important interpersonal skills necessary for future achievement. Don’t forget, every day counts!
Daily Attendance
When students miss school, they miss important instruction and opportunities to engage with their teachers and classmates. This can lead to learning gaps and make it harder for students to keep up. Prioritize daily attendance and ensure your child’s continued success!
Free Activity Passes for Active and Veteran Military Members
The EPS Board of Education recently approved an addition to Policy 1006.07 “Activity Passes” to offer free activity passes to residents of the District who have served or are currently serving in any branch of the United States Armed Forces. Passes can be obtained at the EPS Central Administration Office at 20650 Glenn St during normal business hours. Proof of residency and military service is required.
2025-26 Kindergarten Registration Information

News from the Nurse
⁓Physical and Immunization Requirements⁓
Nebraska law requires that all school children have a physical examination upon entry into school, at seventh grade, and when transferring from an out-of-state school. Students must also provide proof of a visual evaluation to include testing for amblyopia, strabismus, internal and external eye health and visual acuity upon entry into school and when transferring from an out-of-state school. The law also requires your child be immunized and provide proof of immunization before attending classes. All 7th grade students are required to have a Tdap vaccine. Please visit this link: Summary of the School Immunization Rules and Regulations to view specific vaccine requirements for the age of your child. If you have not yet turned in your Kindergarten, 7th grade, or new out-of-state student’s paperwork, please do so ASAP.
⁓Medication Policy⁓
If your student requires any medication (over-the-counter and/or prescription) while at school, each medication must have a Medication Authorization Form signed by the parent and a physician before we can administer. All medications must be unexpired and provided in the original packaging and/or pharmacy container. For prescription medications, please only provide a maximum of 30 day supply at a time. All medication must be dropped off in the office by a parent or guardian. Please do not send any medications with your student. Also, if you believe your student is capable of managing their own inhaler or epi pen while at school (at least 4th or 5th grade), here is the link for the Self-management Of Asthma and Severe Allergy (Anaphylaxis) at School Consent/release form.
⁓Students with Asthma, Severe Allergies, Diabetes, and/or Seizures⁓
If your child has asthma, severe allergies, diabetes, and/or seizures, and you have not yet done so, please submit an Action Plan signed by your physician. Plans must be updated annually.
⁓Sick Child Policy⁓
Just a reminder to monitor your child for symptoms of illness and to keep them home if they have any of the following: a fever that is greater than or equal to 100.0, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, head lice, eye infection. Students must be free of these conditions for 24 hours before returning to school.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns!
Thank You!

Arbor View Visitor Access Procedure
To ensure the safety and security of our students and staff, all school doors will remain locked during the school day. Visitors can gain access through the main entrance using the security camera/access panel. Please follow these steps:
Request Access:
- Push the button on the security panel.
- Wait for the office staff to request your identification.
Provide Identification:
- State your name and the purpose of your visit.
Enter the School:
- Once you hear the door unlatch, enter the building.
- Proceed directly to the office.
Sign In:
- Sign in on the visitor sheet.
- Take a visitor badge.
Sign Out:
- When leaving, return to the office.
- Sign out and return your badge to it's proper location.
Enhanced Security with Sallyport System: To further enhance our security measures, Arbor View has installed a sallyport system in the main office. This controlled entry system ensures that visitors must pass through an additional layer of security before gaining access to the school. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we implement this important safety feature.
Dropping Off Items: If you need to drop off something your child has forgotten, please bring it to the office. We will ensure it is delivered to your child, helping to minimize classroom interruptions.
Thank you for your cooperation in maintaining a secure and efficient environment at Arbor View.
Arbor View Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures
To ensure the safety and efficiency of our drop-off and pick-up process, please follow these guidelines:
Arrival and Departure:
- Students should begin exiting vehicles once the vehicle has pulled as far forward as possible.
- Staff will be outside to assist with drop-off and pick-up. Please pay attention to their signals for where to pull up and when to move forward. Staff members are there to direct traffic to help ensure safety for all and to keep things moving in an orderly fashion.
- Drivers are to stay inside the vehicle at all times in the drop-off/pick-up lane.
Student Safety:
- Students should enter and exit the vehicle curbside.
- Students should use the crosswalk to cross to the parking lot and should never cross in front of traffic in the drop-off lane.
Traffic Flow:
- Left Lane: Traffic should always be moving other than when stopped at the safety patrol crossing and should never stop to let a child out of the car.
- Right Lane: Pull forward if there is space available. Children can be dropped off anywhere along the sidewalk as long as they get out on the curbside.
- Graphic: The graphic below will help explain the traffic flow and expectations.
Line Etiquette:
- Please wait your turn in line and do not cut the line to make a drop-off or pick-up. Everyone is here for the same goal and reason; please be mindful and respectful of that.
- If your child is unable to unbuckle/buckle themselves, please practice this at home. It is important that they can do this independently.
General Guidelines:
- Be patient and a positive role model for our children. These procedures are in place to help maintain a safe and respectful environment.
- It is unlawful to park in a handicap stall without proper licensing.
Communication:
- Please make sure to share these procedures with anyone who may be dropping off and/or picking up your children.
Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring a safe and efficient process for all.
