Calling all Volunteers! Anyone can help out!
Sunflower Village Homes has several committees looking for volunteers to help out with. Each Committee has at least two board members who will oversee the committee and help provide direction and oversight. These committees generally meet three or four times a year.
Anyone can help out! The more the merrier!
Looking for community service hours? Talk to us! We may have a fit just for you!
If interested please consider volunteering for one of the following Committees:
- Communications
- Help with content for the newsletter, website, and Facebook page along with soliciting advertisers for each.
- Procurement Committee
- Help create RFPs (Request for Proposals), and secure bids, for purchases/ contracts
- Social Committee
- Help plan, organize and execute events and activities for the Sunflower community
- Common Grounds Committee
- Help keep an eye on the neighborhood commons, tennis courts, walkways, etc. Report items that are in need of repair or maintenance.
- There was a great deal of interest in the efforts of this committee at the February 15 General Board Meeting. Omar Hashwi is the Chairman of this committee and is extending a warm invitation to anyone who is interested in being on the committee. Please contact him via email at omarhashwi@gmail.com.
- Roads Committee/Snow Committee
- Monitor roads for maintenance, and work with available resources to secure repairs on subdivision roads.
- Help with new snow removal contract RFP creation, provide an initial evaluation of submitted proposals and prepare recommendations for presentation to the Sunflower Board
- Garden Club
- This is a brand new committee, that would help maintain the flowerbeds located around the clubhouses, around the signs located on the corner of Beck and Warren Rd., and near the Canton Center/Sheldon Rd. split. This committee is a bit more free-form in that it will not necessarily "meet", but rather rely on the committee volunteers to set up a loose schedule to help maintain and water our gardens.
If you are interested, please email svha@sunflowercanton.com with your contact info and which committee you would like to volunteer for. You will be added to the committee list and will receive any committee-level communications being sent out. We tend to communicate using email as this is the most efficient way, please be ready to supply an email address for us to use.
Please obey traffic signs in our neighborhood
The office has received complaints of younger drivers not yielding, stopping, or slowing down at the Weathersfield Way and Doubletree intersection stop signs. Drivers, please pay attention, do not assume they're stopping.
