A NOTE FROM MR. CLINE
xDear Charger Family,
With the lottery coming early this year, please spread the word to friends about our upcoming information sessions on Wed, Nov 20, Tues Dec 3 and Thu, Dec 12th. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Virtual School had the highest student academic growth of any virtual school in North Carolina. This means that our students grew the most in 23-24 of any virtual program in the whole state. This is huge news and is a testament to our teachers, students and families! We are state leaders!
Please enjoy the three day weekend as we honor our Veterans on Monday for the holiday. This week, we also hope that you will consider contributing to our food and clothing drive. Donations can be dropped off Tuesday-Friday between 7:15-2:15 at 7030 Nations Ford Rd.
We are thrilled to announce that Ms. Nicole Ashton has joined us as a highly skilled ML teacher and teacher leader Ms. Carron Flinter is also returning to CMVS on Tuesday! Our talented and dedicated staff continues to get stronger.
Congratulations to the following 6th graders for leading the steps challenge. It is amazing to see our Chargers not only committed to a healthy mind but also a healthy body.

Perfect attendance is so important to our Chargers’ success and we have gift cards including Starbucks, Chick-fil-a, and Amazon for five winners during second quarter. Please help support your Charger’s attendance so they can be included in the drawing.
Please encourage your high school Charger to check out the Turn Up for College Event on Sat, Nov 16th and if you have a senior, please remind them about the Educate Me HBCU College Tour on Monday, Nov 11th. Information on both of these is included below.

It is of paramount importance that we maximize instructional time and student engagement at CMVS. In light of that, we have explicated our attendance policy which can be reviewed below. Students must arrive at synchronous sessions on time. Students will not be permitted into class if they are ten minutes late or later as it is a disruption to the learning and halts the process of instruction for the teacher. Thank you for supporting your student’s success with this.
Have a great week!
John
WELCOME MS. ASHTON!
My name is Nicole Ashton. I am the new Multilingual (ML) Teacher for CMVS. I am so excited to be here! I have been teaching ML students since 2000 in middle and high schools, as well as adult education. I taught in virtual education part time for several years from 2006-2012, and also full time during/after covid - including 6th grade Social Studies here at CM Virtual. Here are a few things about me: I am married and have two grown sons and a daughter. I have three dogs and cats, as well as several chickens and two beehives. I love to read and bake. I am looking forward to working with all of our students, teachers, staff, and administrators to have a great school year full of learning and growth!

TECHNOLOGY OR TEAMS ISSUES?
If you are having a tech issue, please fill out the Tech Issue Form. This will help issues be addressed as quickly as possible and help us keep up with our record keeping since there are only two of us handling these issues. Emails are harder to keep up with and do not leave a paper trail that everyone can access.
If you are having a Teams issue is please fill out the Teams Issue form. These issues are harder for us to troubleshoot in-house, but we are sending these request to the district for support.
Both of these forms are linked on the Tech Help page, which all students and parents have access to through links on all canvas pages and the CMVS website.
Please utilize these forms rather than emailing teachers and staff.
ALL PARENTS MUST COMPLETE THE EMERGENCY HEALTH FORM
