Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations
Families of Spanish track students are invited to attend the HHM performance at 8:30am on Friday, October 11, in the Lower Campus village plaza.
Library
Students now have access to their individual Accessit accounts in order to view current library loans, overdues, and checkout history. Directions for accessing your account can be found in this video. Closed captions are available in Spanish, French, and Mandarin by clicking the gear on the bottom right of the video. Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations
Families of Spanish track students are invited to attend the HHM performance at 1pm on Friday, October 11, in the Upper Campus Auditorium. Please report to the UC front office/main gate from 12:45pm to be signed in and to be given your visitor badge. Thank you!

Join the GLOBE Middle School Reading Bowl Team!
Due to last week's Rock Eagle Trip, coupled with the severe weather brought by Hurricane Helene, we have postponed the starting date of the Reading Bowl. Our first meeting will be next Tuesday, October 8. Students will meet in Ms. Braun’s room from 3:30pm to 4:40pm on Tuesdays. For more information on the DeKalb Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl, click here. Last chance to order your Peace Week t-shirt!
Upper Campus will be celebrating Peace Week from October 28 to November 1. If you would like to purchase the 2024 Peace Week T-shirt for your student, please complete the payment via your My Payments Plus portal. All orders are due by tomorrow, Thursday, October 3. 6th grade trip to Rock Eagle
We are pleased to share a few images from last week's 6th grade trip to Rock Eagle.
Connections - Music
On Friday, September 20, GLOBE's 8th-grade band students took part in Lakeside High School Marching Band’s 8th-grade Night. It was an awesome opportunity for GLOBE students to get a taste of what high school marching band is like. They rehearsed with the high school students at Lakeside, rode the bus to the stadium, and played with the high school students in the stands during the game between Lakeside and Druid Hills High School.

Spirit Night at Bell Street Burrito
Come out to the PTCC Spirit Night at Bell Street Burrito on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 4pm to 8pm. Carry-out and pick-up are included in Spirit Night contribution but the payment must be made in person at the restaurant. No online orders are included in the Spirit Night. 20% of the sales brought in by spirit night will be donated back to the school. Families do not need to bring a flyer. Lower Campus Science Fest is Coming
Does your student want to learn about bubbles, bacteria, or blood?
Do they like to make slime? Then, join us for Science Fest on Saturday, October 26, from 10:00am to 12noon in the Village Plaza. Get ready to immerse yourself in a world of hands-on STEM-related exhibits that will spark your child’s imagination and curiosity! Spirit Night at the Hawks vs Celtics is Monday, November 4, 2024
Get ready for some family fun and basketball as we celebrate Spirit Night at the Atlanta Hawks vs Boston Celtics game. Will the home team beat the defending NBA champions? Athletics
Make a note: Fall sports team picture day will take place on October 24.
Cheerleading tryouts
Tryouts for the cheerleading team will take place in the UC Cafeteria, from 3:30pm to 5:30pm on October 2, 3 and 4. Register for tryouts here. Please visit the athletics website for further details.
Please note: All participants are asked to wear white tops, black shorts, athletic shoes, and something to keep hair out of the face (for anyone with long hair). Participants will be placed in small groups to perform what we've learned during the clinic days. Pick up is at 5:30pm.
GLOBE Volleyball players will be excused.
Basketball tryouts
Girls basketball tryouts will be Monday, October 28 and 30, from 3:30pm to 5pm. Boys will be Tuesday, October 29 and 31, from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. Parents may pick them up at the gym. Registration will begin next Wednesday, October 9.
Fall Sports Highlights
Boys Soccer
GLOBE A Team defeated Epstein 6-0 to clinch 2nd place. They now play Davis next week to compete for 1st place. B Team won by forfeit against Atlanta Classical on Tuesday.
Ultimate Frisbee
GLOBE defeated Epstein 10-9 in overtime, putting them in 2nd place overall. Congratulations!
Cross Country
All teams are really performing well. Girls finished #4 out of 16 teams on Tuesday.
Top Runners this week were Violet Hall (finished #2) and Grayson Miller (finished #3 for Boys).
Volleyball
The girls lost a close game against the #1 team on Monday and face Ridgeview today in a battle for the playoffs. B Team is currently in 2nd place and also doing a great job this season.
GLOBE Games to be held at GLOBE Gym on October 24 and 25
We will be holding another teachers vs students GLOBE Games event, to be held at GLOBE Gym on October 24 and 25, 2024. This time the sport will be volleyball. Look out for details coming soon!

Mark your calendars for November 15 as GLOBE Trot is returning!
Planning for GLOBE’s biggest fundraiser of the year has already begun. GLOBE Trot is a school-wide fun run and exercise-focused event where all GLOBE students will run, skip, race, and have fun while promoting healthy bodies and healthy minds. Volunteers are needed to help with planning events for the day, fundraising, and soliciting donations. If you are interested in volunteering and creating a lasting memory for the student body, please reach out to Andrew Dahl.
