Hello Palmyra Families,
This is Ms. Bletterman with your weekly news:
I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for our amazing community, staff, and students.
Tomorrow, we are excited to participate in the Autism Speaks Walk at Angel Stadium, and on Thanksgiving Day, we’ll proudly host 170 participants at the 2nd Annual Palmyra Community Dinner.
Reminder: School will be closed next week, November 25th–29th.
We wish you all a happy, restful, and enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday!
We look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday, December 2nd.

Autism Speaks
Join Us for the Autism Speaks Walk! Please join the team - Palmyra PIntos — click on link
We are excited to remind you about the Autism Speaks Walk happening this Saturday, November 23rd, at Angels Stadium.
T-Shirt Pickup: Event shirts are available for pickup in the front office. If you’re unable to pick up beforehand, Ms. Bletterman or Mrs. Susie Torres will have them at the event and will be passing them out near the registration table. Here are the event details and schedule:

- Date: Saturday, November 23rd
- Time: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
- Location: Angels Stadium
Schedule:
- 9:00 a.m. – Registration
- 10:00 a.m. – Opening Ceremonies
- 10:30 a.m. – Walk Begins
Meeting Location:
While we are unsure of the exact meeting spot when we arrive, we will position ourselves in a high-traffic area, most likely near the registration tables. Look for us—we’ll make it easy to find!
We can’t wait to see everyone there as we walk together in support of Autism Speaks. Let’s make it a wonderful event!

We are excited to invite you to our Community Thanksgiving Dinner at Palmyra Gate Magnet! Join us for a day of gratitude, community, and fun on November 28th, 2024, at 11 a.m. This special event will take place at 1325 E Palmyra Ave, Orange, CA 92866.
Enjoy a delicious meal with family and friends, and take part in exciting games for all ages. We’ll also have a special opportunity to shop for just $1 at our Full Circle Thrift Shop, along with a free food pantry available for those in need.
ALL ARE WELCOME! Whether you’re looking to celebrate with loved ones or simply want to connect with your community, we hope to see you there!

If you know your student will be absent, please inform both the teacher and the front office as soon as possible. This helps us plan ahead and ensure all students stay on track.

2025 GATE Screening & Testing
The 2025 GATE screening process for students in grades 2-6 is underway.
- All students in 3rd grade will be screened for GATE. If you do not wish for your child to be screened, complete and return to our school office the Opt Out form linked below. You may also get a copy of the form from our school office or from your child's teacher.
- Students in grades 2, 4, 5, and 6 may be referred by parents or teachers for the GATE testing process by completing the GATE referral form linked below . The deadline to refer your child is Wednesday, January 21, 2025
There will be two virtual parent information sessions hosted by the OUSD GATE office. These will be held using Microsoft Teams. See the bottom of the 2025 GATE Screening Information flyer linked below below for links to the meetings.

Smart Watch and Phone Use
Please ensure that all students have their phones and smartwatches silenced or airplane mode during school hours. If you need to reach your student, you can either send a message to the teacher via ClassDojo or call the front office.
We also encourage all students to follow these procedures to maintain a focused and uninterrupted learning environment.
