ABLAZE

Another year is here and with new years come new beginnings. And with new beginnings come new resolutions. But for me, resolutions and goals for the new year are good, but they can seem daunting or stereotypical or pointless. Because for us, no matter the date or time of year, we all need to be washed in the renewing grace and mindset of the One who made our mind and knows how much we can wander.

"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." (Romans 12:2)

So as we look to a new year filled with joys, challenges, and promises, let us lean daily on the One who can renew us maybe not in the way we want, but definitely in the way we need.

Starting on January 12th, we will start in a new series about angels and what Scripture has to say about what and who angels are. We will meet on Sundays in the Youth Room from 9:30-10:30 am.

Here's the schedule:

January 5th: No Connection Hour (I'll be on my honeymoon!)

January 12th: Intro to Angels

January 19th: No Connection Hour (Sr. High Winter Retreat)

January 26th: Angels Continued

We'll be starting up with our ABLAZE Wednesday Nights on January 22, 2025 in the Youth Room from 6:30-8:30 pm.

We will be starting in a new series following a devotional called "Facing Fear:"

Week 1: Getting Started

Week 2: 10 Things to Know about Fear

Week 3: 10 Reasons Not to Fear

Week 4: 10 Ways to Fight Fear

Week 5: Putting Fear in Its Place

The Envelope Fundraiser is something we did last year to raise money for the Sr. High Youth Gathering and Jr. High Mission Trips. We hang envelopes in the Worship Center Lobby and congregation members can grab an envelope and bring back the amount on the envelope with the hope of if they pay a certain amount, they can get a postcard, a souvenir, or a dinner put on by the youth. It was a hit last year and hope it can be again this year!

Youth can sign up to help man the station for any questions people may have on January 26th, February 2nd, and/or February 9th.

Every month, the Jr. High Youth help out with a church service! Whether it's greeting, ushering, or helping in the cafe, they have some part of the service!

The Sr. High Youth help out every 2nd week of the month.
