Welcome! back to another amazing school year!
I am Mrs. Alyson Gordon, the class of 2028 administrator!!!! ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐ I will be one of the many people at AEHS that is a part of your childโs support team. I am also VERY EXCITED to start your child's high school career with you.
A little about myself...
I am a mom and bonus mom. My husband, who is also an educator, and I are the proud parents to 4 daughters (19, 16, 9, 9). The two youngest are twins, so that also makes me a M.O.M. (Mom Of Multiples)!!! Our twins are competitive dancers about to start 4th grade. Our 19 year old is a former cheerleader and current hairstylist and entrepreneur. Our 16 year old is a rising Junior who happens to be a guitarist, knitter, and avid reader. We reside in Bowie, MD. We have a black lab-pitbull mix named Poppa, who is the sweetest! I grew up in Montgomery County and am an MCPS graduate. I am a former two sport athlete, volleyball & softball, and love attending sporting events. You will also catch me at our students visual and performing arts events, and various competitions. I am beginning my 3rd year at AEHS. I have had the privilege of serving as the senior class administrator the past two years. I am looking forward to learning more about your children and you. Please feel free to come introduce yourself if you see me at one of the AEHS events!
What to expect...
The purpose of this newsletter is to keep students and caregivers up to date on things specific to 9th grade, share opportunities, give friendly reminders, and highlight the work of our students and staff. This monthโs newsletter is an introduction to the year.
Goals for the year...
Let's work in unison to
- build fruitful relationships with fellow classmates, teachers, and staff to help make for a safe and welcoming learning environment for ALL.
- help ALL students earn credits in all 7 classes and stay on track for graduation.
- find each student's why they want to graduate and develop a plan for graduation.
I look forward to partnering with you, your child's counselor, our college & career coordinator, career coach, and so many others to make your school experience an enjoyable one all year long with exciting experiences that make learning fun!
