Greetings CHS Parents and Caregivers
Quarter Two Experiential is Off and Running!
Students participated in their first Experiential Learning session last Wednesday! Below are some highlights:
In our Content Creation course, students began to lay down the ground work for their projects. Students worked on creating and editing audio files, logo design, and planning their content. Some of the projects we are looking forward to seeing and hearing are music, podcasts, and graphic design.
Forensic Science students worked together through various pieces of evidence to identify who the culprit was in a murder case. Students learned that detective work involves a lot of patience and close observation.
Our Giving Back to the Community donated their time to help ECHO Food Shelf package various items. This was a great way for our students to give back to their community in an impactful way.
Continue to ask you student about their Experiential Learning experiences.
Giving Thanks
Our Foods Class has been working hard the last few days to prepare a Thanksgiving feast for CHS students and staff to enjoy before the holiday break. Students worked together to make some Thanksgiving classics such as turkey, cheesy potatoes, candied yams, green bean casserole, stuffing, and pie, so much pie.....
Thank you to our FACS teacher, Sarah Karau-Dauk, for organizing and cooking, our social studies teacher, Dan Toegel, for coming in early to start up the turkeys, our structured study supervisor, Becca Lee, and our Business/Work-Based Learning teacher, Kristen Olinger, for setting up tables, community member, Carla Chesley, for helping out in the kitchen, and the many students and staff involved in the process. It was truly, something to be grateful for.
