Superintendent Update
May 24th, 2024
Muñoz Minutes 🕒
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Members of our School Communities,
As we approach Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave people who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Their courage and dedication remind us of the true meaning of service and patriotism. We encourage everyone to take a moment this weekend to reflect on this day's significance and express gratitude for the freedoms we enjoy.
I encourage you to spend time outdoors with family and friends this long weekend. Whether planning a picnic, a hike, or simply relaxing in the sun, I hope you enjoy this time together.
With just 18 school days remaining until summer break, we want to emphasize the importance of finishing the school year strong. These final weeks are crucial for reinforcing the knowledge and skills our students have developed throughout the year. We encourage students to stay focused, parents to continue supporting their children's efforts, and staff to keep inspiring and guiding our learners toward success.
Additionally, we would like to remind all parents and guardians to register for school bus transportation for the next academic year by June 30. Timely registration ensures we can efficiently plan and allocate resources for safe and reliable student transportation. Please visit our district website (link below) or contact the transportation office for more details on how to complete the registration process.
Thank you for your continued partnership and dedication to our school community. Let's make these last few weeks productive and memorable!
Go Mustangs!
Sincerely,
Dr. J.J. Muñoz
Acting Superintendent of Schools, Norwood Public Schools

Updated COVID-19 Guidelines
Norwood Public Schools Adopts the New CDC & MA Department of Public Health Guidelines for Respiratory Illnesses
1. When you have ANY respiratory virus (Flu, COVID, RSV) - stay home and away from others while you have respiratory
virus symptoms. These symptoms can include fever, chills, fatigue, cough, runny nose, and headache, among others.
2. Return to normal activities when, for at least 24 hours, BOTH are true:
Your symptoms are getting better overall, AND
You have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication)
3. When you go back to your normal activities, take added precautions over the next 5 days, such as taking
additional steps for cleaner air, hygiene, masks, physical distancing, and/or testing when you will be
around other people indoors.
If you have questions or need COVID home test kits please reach out to your school nurse. For additional information
