New Student and Freshmen Orientation
Welcome new students and freshmen to Ozaukee High School! As we near the start of the school year I want to get a couple of dates on your calendar. We are requiring all new students and freshmen to attend a special meeting/orientation on Wednesday, August 28th, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Parents/Guardians, please plan on having your child attend this orientation, as they will be receiving important information to help them be prepared and successful on the first day of school and beyond. We are also considering the possibility of offering transportation by bus on this day to those that live within the district boundaries if there is a significant number of students in need of transportation. Please contact Kristin Petersen, kpetersen@nosd.edu or 262-692-2453 ext. 400, no later than August 21st, if you would be in need of having your child picked up by bus for the orientation.
The other date I want to get on your calendar is the annual back to school picnic on Tuesday, August 27th, from 5:00 to 7:00. Please consider attending this with your family, we would be grateful for the opportunity to host you for dinner in our building that evening.
Go Warriors!

How to obtain a work permit
The Department of Workforce Development's Equal Rights Division has developed a new online work permit application tool. The application improves accessibility for minors who live in rural or underserved areas and eliminates the difficult logistics involved in working parents having to take off work to make a trip to a work permit office.
The application is live now. A parent can access the site using these instructions. Payment is made directly to the department through the application, using a credit or debit card or by ACH direct withdrawal. Once the permit application process is complete, the Department mails a paper copy of the permit directly to the employer.
In addition, they have reorganized the employment of minors web pages. The information you may need is linked, including a guide to hazardous and prohibited work, the hours and times of day restrictions for minors, and links to the appropriate statutes and codes.
