On Tuesday, April 29th, 8th grade students will be taking the Science MCA test and it will begin period 1 and end period 3. A regular school day will resume after testing so students should remain at school.

Mounds View Public Schools is asking students in grades 5, 8, 9 and 11 to participate in the 2025 Minnesota Student Survey (MSS). Federal law requires us to notify parents of this school activity. The MSS is conducted in schools across our state every three years.

Questions on the survey are about many topics relating to young people’s lives. The survey asks about how well school is going, future plans, out-of-school activities, physical and mental health, relationships, substance use , and more. This useful information about their thoughts and behaviors helps communities and schools develop effective programs and provide better services.

The survey is anonymous. To prevent individuals or families from being identified, students do not provide their names, student identification numbers or personal information.

The survey is voluntary. You may choose to have your child not take the survey by completing and returning the form below. The form should be turned into the front office. Students may also decline to take any part of the survey or the whole survey. They are informed of that option by staff.

You have the right to review a copy of the survey. Surveys are available for review in the school office (during office hours) or at the Mounds View District Center, 4570 Victoria Street North, Shoreview (between 8 am and 4pm daily). Additionally, families can email assessment@moundsviewschools.org with a request to review the survey, and that office will respond.

The Minnesota Student Survey will be administered to students in grade 8 at Chippewa Middle School on May 9th.

Join us for the seventh annual Student Honoring Powwow on Saturday, April 26 at Irondale High School. Grand entry begins at 1 p.m.

Here’s a quick reminder of what’s coming up and when donations are due:

Tuesday, May 6 – Taco Bar:
If you’re donating for Tuesday’s event, please bring your items by Monday, May 5.

Wednesday, May 7 – Popcorn Bar:
If you're donating for the popcorn bar, please drop off your items by Tuesday, May 6.

Thursday, May 8 – Charcuterie Board:
If you're donating for the charcuterie board please drop off donations before Wednesday, May 7.

Students must be involved in a supervised activity to be eligible to ride the activity bus, which departs at 3:45 PM Monday through Thursday. Students should ride their normal bus route after school if they are not in a scheduled activity. Activity bus information can be found here.

We will meet in the MAC Rooms at MV High School. Invite friends and let them know of the free open house event. (MAC rooms are located near the middle of the school, as you will be directed on how to find them once you arrive).

During the week of May 5-9, Mounds View Public Schools will recognize all staff during Staff Appreciation Week. Each day during that week, you'll see an employee group spotlighted on our social media pages. Help us send notes of appreciation to our Mounds View Public Schools staff. Show your school spirit! Starting this month, our apparel stores will be open year-round. Orders will be processed on the 10th of every month, with delivery approximately 3 weeks from that date. Find your school store and place an order at mvpschools.org/spiritwear.

Chippewa offers after-school academic support three days a week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Selected teachers will run academic support in the library after school until 3:35 pm.

Rules:

• After-school support runs from 2:35 pm to 3:35 pm.
• Unless other arrangements are made, students must stay for the entire time.
• Students must plan for a ride home by 3:45 pm.
• Students must come with work to do.
