FCMS EXPRESS
Week of March 3, 2025
From Mr. Liggett
FCMS Family,
I wanted to take this time to reflect on the importance of helping our students to better
understand the value of hard work and discipline, even when distractions like warmer weather
and social opportunities arise, these values help to guide them for success in the long run.
Talking with your child about the importance of consistency, responsibility, and perseverance
can help them stay focused. It might be helpful to frame these qualities not just as obligations but
as tools for achieving their goals and dreams. The idea that hard work can open up more
opportunities, whether it’s in school, sports, or their personal interests, might be motivating.
Additionally, taking small breaks to relax and recharge is just as important as maintaining
continued academic focus. Teaching them balance—how to work hard and still find time for
fun—will help them develop healthier habits for managing stress and expectations in the future.
The future is bright for our youth with all the opportunities offered to them. It is up to us to help
guide them in following their goals as well as maintaining proper care in getting to reach these
goals. The partnership that the school has with the family is very important to the success of our
students. As always, please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns so
that we may continue make decisions based on what is best for our students.

Noah Benson was selected as Mrs. Ariens' "ELA Rockstar of the Week" for this week. Noah is an extremely responsible young man! He comes into my classroom everyday with a positive attitude and is ready to learn. He shows excitement in the lessons and activities I work so hard to plan. Thank you, Noah!
FCMS National Honor Society
The FCMS Honor Society consists of 21 students who earned a GPA of 3.75. These students do community service projects throughout the year. One of the service projects they chose for this year was to go to the four 1st-grade classrooms at BES and read a Dr. Seuss book. Each student chose a Dr. Seuss book they wanted and read it aloud to a group of three to four first-grade students. They followed up the reading with questions and did an art project that went along with the book's theme. Both junior high students and first grade students had a wonderful experience. This project was proposed, discussed, and agreed upon solely by the members of the honor society. President Cameron Arnold was instrumental in organizing this event. Mrs. Beth Brown is the proud sponsor of this talented group of students. Members participating are: President, Cameron Arnold, Vice President, Gabriel Wesolowski, Dana Brennan, Kodie Cox, Alexis Feller, Steeley Galyen, Savannah Garrett, Evelyn Grimmeissen, Lane Hunter, Aeriana Larson, Cora Lienesch, Jaydon Richardson, Emily Robinson, Teagan Schatzman, Colton Seale, Brooklyn Spradlin, Cayne Stewart, Lance Stoecklin, Alexis Werner, Sophia Williams
FFA
In celebration of National FFA Week and to raise awareness about the importance of agriculture and the history of the National FFA Organization, Mrs. Riffle's 8th grade Intro to Ag class planned and organized a fun game show between 4 FFA Members and 4 FCMS Educators. "Are You Smarter Than An FFA Member?" pitted students Landon E., Jaydon R., Emma A., and Jackob K. against Mr. Sherwood, Mrs. Middendorf, Mrs. Noah and Mrs. Ratz. The contestants answered questions about FFA and Agriculture, and the teachers squeaked out a win on the bonus round! The assembly was a fun activity and included the pep band, the cheer team, Dance Energy and our own Mr. Liggett as the Wildcat!
Special Guest
FC mascot, Franklin, visited our students on Wednesday!
