Scholastic Bowl- 5th Graders
Does your child love games, trivia, competition??
All 5th - 8th grade Students are invited to come hear all about Scholastic Bowl on Thursday, Nov. 21 at the Millburn Middle School Media Center. Scholastic Bowl will meet Thursdays after school in the Millburn Middle School Center. YES!!! We are offering this opportunity to 5th Graders. Students will get on their normal bus after school and instead of getting off at home, they ride the bus all they way until they arrive at Middle School where Mrs. Dekorsi and Mrs. Laughman will collect them and walk them to the MMS Media Center. Usually, there will be a FREE activity bus to take your child home at 4:30, but that will not begin until Dec. 5. You will need to ensure your student has a ride home on the 21st. Pick-up is 4:30 at Millburn Middle School.
What exactly IS Scholastic Bowl? Scholastic Bowl is an IESA sanctioned team academic competition. Our MMS team competes against teams in our area at the Varsity and Junior Varsity level. The questions asked of the students coincide with the core academic areas of the Middle School Curriculum, current events, and pop culture.
The season usually lasts from Nov. - April and we will work with you and your if you are in multiple sports or have conflicts. Come, check it out!!
Please fill out this form if you give your child permission to go to the Information meeting so we know to expect them: https://forms.gle/VvV7C46iyLH2JUs4A
Are you moving out of district?
If your family is planning to move out of the school district, we kindly ask that you follow the steps below to ensure a smooth transition for your child(ren) as they move to a new school.
1. Notify the School
Please inform the school as soon as possible about your intent to move. This helps us prepare necessary documentation and ensure proper communication between schools.
2. Request Records
We will need to transfer your child’s academic records to their new school. Once you know which school your child will be attending, please provide us with the name and contact information for their new school, so we can forward their records promptly.
3. Return School Property
If your child has any school-issued items such as textbooks, library books, technology devices, or sports equipment, please make sure to return these items to the school before your departure.
4. Update Your Contact Information
Ensure that we have your most up-to-date contact information. This will allow us to reach you in case there are any follow-up questions or details regarding your child’s transition.
5. Confirm Withdrawal Date
Please provide us with the exact date of your child’s last day of attendance, so we can officially process their withdrawal.
6. Check your PushCoin Account
Please check your student's PushCoin account (pushcoin.com) for any balances owed to the school or refunds you'd like to withdraw from the account. Please contact the main office for the refund form or with help accessing your student's account. You will need to provide an updated mailing address for any refunds.
We understand that moving can be both an exciting and challenging time for families. Our team is here to support your child(ren) and make this transition as seamless as possible. If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to contact the school office.

PARENT CONNECTIONS through a Parent University Series
We have already had opportunities for parents to connect with staff at the start of the school year, and an opportunity this week for parents to connect with other parents. It is important for our community to connect with each other in various ways to create a support network as we bring up our kids toward adulthood. The PARENT U series is another opportunity to connect throughout the year! Please consider taking part in as many of these opportunities as possible! Save the dates and times in this LINK, and watch for more details as the year progresses.
