March 30th
Monday, March 24th started our Popsicles on the Playground contest for classrooms with the best attendance record. Each day, Mrs. Comer checks the daily attendance and places a Blue Monarch butterfly outside the classrooms with perfect attendance. On Friday, April 11th the class with the most Blue Monarchs will receive Popsicles on the Playground.
Students have been eager to check their door during the lunch period to see if they've received a butterfly. Late arrivals will count towards perfect attendance as long as the student is seated in class by 10:30 AM. We love seeing students' smiling faces and appreciate your dedication to ensuring they are present so that we can keep them engaged!

You'll need to have the following documents handy in order to fully register. To be prepared, take a photo of each document prior to beginning the enrollment process.

Kindergarten Open House Sign Ups
After registering through Berkeley County Schools, please visit https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0A4DABA92EAAFBC70-55691284-kindergarten#/ to register for a time slot on April 11th to visit Opequon Elementary! This event allows you to meet our OES staff and get acclimated with a new school before the school year begins. We look forward to partnering with you!
*We do not offer an Open House for PreK at this time.
Spring is here! However, the mornings are still quite chilly. Please send your student(s) with a light jacket or sweatshirt that they can keep in their backpack for those colder days. Many of our classes head outside when the weather is still a bit too cold to not wear a jacket (PE, recess, other activities).
