Principal's Message From Dr. Otway
Let's Get Ready for our 1st EXPO Day
Parents this opportunity is for you! EXPO Day will be here September 20, 2024. We are thrilled to invite you to a special Parent Experience designed to give you an in-depth look at our "Leader In Me" program and a glimpse into your student's day. This is a wonderful opportunity to see how we are nurturing leadership skills and personal growth in our student leaders!
Schedule for the Day:
7:10 AM - 8:00 AM: Start your day with coffee and snacks with me, where I'll get you ready for the morning ahead.
8:00 AM - 9:30 AM: Dive into the school day in your child's homeroom class with a hands-on Leadership Morning Meeting, followed by a guided experience through your child's day during our new EXPO days. This process is designed to bring all parents and caregivers into the classroom, giving you an up-close look at what learning and leadership look like at College Park.
If you have any questions or need more information, don't hesitate to reach out to our Family Engagement Specialist, Ashley Adams, at adamsa8@fultonschools.org.
Looking forward to seeing you there!

September is...
Attendance Matters Month
College Park Tigers let's work hard this year to meet our attendance goals by showing up ON TIME, performing ON TARGET and staying ON TRACK.
We can do this together!
ON TIME ⏰Beat the Bell, 7:40 a.m. Be in Class! On Time, Every Day!
ON TARGET 📈 95% Attendance Rate = No More than 8 Absences
ON TRACK💹 Student Achievement -Advancement - Graduation
Did you know?
Starting in preschool and kindergarten, too many absences can cause children to fall behind in school. Missing 10%, or about 2 days each month over the course of a school year, can make it harder to learn to read. Students can still fall behind if they miss just one or two days every few weeks. Absences and tardiness can affect the whole classroom if the teacher has to slow down learning to help children catch up.
Suicide Prevention Awareness Month
September is National Suicide Prevention Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness, fostering open conversations, and promoting resources to support mental health. It’s an opportunity to remind ourselves and others that help is available and that no one is alone in their struggles. Let’s work together to build a supportive community, encourage dialogue, and extend compassion to those who may be in need of support.
Hispanic Heritage Month
September 15 to October 15, we honor the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities. This is a wonderful opportunity to explore and appreciate the diverse traditions, arts, and achievements that have shaped our world. Their are 21 countries have Spanish as their official language and they are listed here in order of size.
- Mexico 2. Colombia 3. Spain 4. Argentina 5. Perú 6. Venezuela 7. Chile 8. Ecuador 9. Guatemala 10. Cuba 11. Bolivia 12. Dominican Republic 13. Honduras 14. Paraguay 15. El Salvador 16. Nicaragua 17. Costa Rica 18. Panama 19. Uruguay 20. Puerto Rico 21.Equatorial Guinea

Our September 6th sorting day was one to remember! Our new students officially joined their College Park house, and now our school community is complete. PreK-2 kicked off the morning by getting placed in their houses, while grades 3-5 had the honor of spinning the magical wheel. The numbers are in! Altruismo and Isibindi both welcomed 37 new students. Amistad led with welcoming 47 new students. Reveur welcomed 30 new students. Together, we'll strive for success in attendance, academics & ROAR behavior.
