A Message from Kelly Barlow-Eichman, District Nurse
As spring break approaches, parents should be aware of the rising measles cases in the U.S., particularly in Texas, where many families plan to travel. Measles is highly contagious and poses serious health risks, especially to unvaccinated individuals and young children. The CDC has reported 222+ cases across multiple states, with two confirmed deaths among unvaccinated individuals. To protect your family while traveling, ensure everyone is up-to-date on their measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccinations, stay informed about outbreaks at your destination, practice good hygiene, avoid close contact with sick individuals, and seek medical attention if symptoms arise. Please review the attached letter for more information from the North Shore Health Department. For any questions or concerns, please reach out to public health officials or your healthcare provider.

Thank you for your cooperation and support!
