Glenn School Eagle Post
May 2024
🏫 Superintendent's Nest
Spring has arrived! Welcome to May, one of the most beautiful months of the year! We have many events happening in the life of the school this month. Make sure to check out the upcoming events and put those dates in your calendar.
I would like to congratulate the Outstanding People for Education winners this year. Amy Bain is the Art & Physical Education teacher this year, Marissa Larabel is the 1st/2nd grade Instructional Assistant and Jenn Cook is the 1st/2nd grade teacher. They all received a certificate and will be honored at a recognition dinner in Plainwell this month along with the other winners from other Allegan County school districts.
May 6th- 10th is National Teacher Appreciation week. At Glenn School, we take this time to appreciate all the staff members who help sustain this 170-year-old, oldest continuously operating rural school in Michigan! We will recognize the staff members in different ways throughout the week; food is always a good way to show someone you care. The PTC is also honoring staff and is accepting donations towards their gifts.
We will once again be hosting a community CPR/First Aid class on Tuesday, May 21st at 5:30 pm in the multi-purpose room for $25.00. This is through the American Heart Association Heartsaver program. We will offer a FREE dinner and childcare during the training. Please RSVP by May 17th to jamie.walle@glenn.school or 269-512-7977.
Our Giving Tree this month will be accepting donations of cereal to donate to Ladders of Hope Food Pantry in Fennville while working with Allegan County Community Foundation to raise funds to purchase cereal for other food pantries in Allegan County.
We will host the 170th Celebration of Glenn School on Sunday, May 26th, from 12-3 pm. We will have carnival games, face painting, balloon animals, a bounce house, and more! This will take place indoors and outdoors on school grounds. There is a Sign-Up Genius asking for volunteers and people to make cakes & cupcakes. Please spread the word to family, friends, and neighbors.
Enjoy all the sights and scents of the season!
Sincerely,
Jamie Walle
Superintendent/Principal

Our technology teacher, Mrs. Jesser, is looking forward to hosting our first Summer Tech Camp for Upper Elementary students.
Unfortunately, this camp cannot be provided free of charge for the students. We are looking for ways to make this as accessible as possible for as many students to attend as possible.
There will be three week-long sessions provided at $100 each.
Anyone interested in sponsoring a student can contact Ms. Cate at 269-512-7972 or cate.rutter@glenn.shool.
