Message From the Office
Dear Families,
Tonight is our home varsity football game against Colgan, and we have a special musical treat in store!. The Jayhawk-Linn Band has invited the Osawatomie Marching Band to join them for the evening since their marching season was cancelled. The Osawatomie band will perform at 6:30 p.m., while our Jayhawk-Linn band will take the field during halftime.
Throughout the game, both bands will come together to keep the energy high and bring on the school spirit. We hope to see you there to support both our team and our talented musicians.
Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for October 15 and 17, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. We are excited to meet with you and discuss your student's progress during the first quarter. We encourage you to set aside some time to join us for this important opportunity.
We are excited to announce that we will be hosting a Justice from the Kansas Supreme Court on Tuesday, November 12 at 9:00 a.m. The purpose of the school visit is to meet with students, faculty, and staff and to discuss how the court system interacts with the other branches of government, and how the courts impact the lives of people. Each justice has their own unique presentation about the court system and the justices like to take questions from those in attendance. Normally, one Supreme Court justice accompanied by a local district court judge or district magistrate judge will visit each school.
The Kansas Supreme Court will hold a special session and is open to anyone who wants to hear oral argument in person. Court will be in session from 6:30 - 7:15 at Louisburg High School at 202 Aquatic Drive, Louisburg, KS.

Are you interested in sharing feedback with the district? Do you have a pulse for the needs of our school or other district buildings? If yes, then we hope you will consider joining our Jayhawk Facilities Committee!
The purpose of the group will be to explore areas like, or similar, to the following:
Infrastructure Upgrades
Assess the current condition of school buildings and consider renovations (HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical systems, etc.).
Example: The Andale-Garden Plain School District noticed a need to update their heating and cooling systems and replacing roofs.Safety and Security Improvements
Evaluate existing safety measures and suggest enhancements to ensure a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Example: The Columbus Unified School District explored the installation of surveillance cameras throughout the campus.Technology Enhancements
Identify opportunities for updating and integrating technology in classrooms to support innovative teaching and learning.
Example: Burlington High School dreamed of outfitting classrooms with updated smartboards and enhanced Wi-Fi capabilities.Outdoor Learning and Recreational Areas
Explore the development of green spaces, playgrounds, and outdoor classrooms that promote student engagement and well-being.
Example: The Lyndon School District considered how new track and field facilities and improved playgrounds might enhance their schools.Sustainability Practices
Discuss and recommend sustainable practices to reduce the school’s environmental impact and promote responsible resource management.
Example: The Wellsville School District explored solar panel installation and energy-efficient lighting upgrades.
Again, it's not limited to this! We will explore other ideas and/or areas of need for our physical building.
