Off and Runningππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈ
I have already witnessed students helping one another, being respectful to teachers and showing enthusiasm for learning. It feels exactly how school should. To keep this going it will take all of us working together and that starts with making sure we communicate with one another so we can always be on the same page for your students.

Ways to Communicate
What you can expect from school...
Take a moment to learn about each way we use to share information from school. Each method has its strengths and best uses.
Newsletters
This form of sharing information can come from your child's teacher, or from the school (Like the Weekly Preview). The purpose is to create one place for you to reference key dates, reminders and highlight the great things that are taking place.
ClassDojo
If you have not joined your child's ClassDojo group, please reach out to their teacher for the link. This is a great place for teachers to share quick posts about daily happenings in their class and share brief messages with all parents in their class. This does have a direct messaging feature (text-message like) that is good for non-urgent sharing. Teachers are teaching during the day so this is only checked formally before and after school. For immediate communication needs, please call the main office at (630) 428-6789
This allows us to send more detailed messages that are non-urgent and can be referenced in the future to support planning. This is NOT the best place to share specific concerns or sensitive conversations that are best supported with in-the moment, back and forth interaction to ensure clarity and support the ability to hear a person's tone of voice. Teachers check email daily but again, since they are teaching and supporting students, emails cannot be expected to be responded to during school hours.
Phone Calls
Reaching out to you by phone is most important way to communicate right after an in-person conference. This allows us to have a person-to person conversation about specifics that relate to supporting your child's success. It allows you to hear the compassion and obvious desire we have for your child to grow as a student and person. If you miss a call from the school, please listen to the voicemail message before returning the call. This will ensure that you know exactly who you need to speak with so our office staff can connect you to the proper person.
How do you want to be contacted?
Please make sure that you and your child's teacher agree on your preferred way of being contacted for general information and urgent information so that we can always remain a unified support for your child.
What can school expect from home?
We love to hear from you! The fact is that you are your child's first teacher and the person that knows them best. Your insight and feedback will only strengthen our ability to support academic and personal growth. We hope that you approach every contact with school knowing that we have your child's best interest at the heart of all we do.
When in doubt, call us. We are hear to support your child and one another. We look forward to hearing from you! (School Directory)
