Bethesda Caper Parent Edition
May 17, 2024
Dear Bethesda Families,
As we approach the conclusion of another remarkable school year, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on our collective achievements and express my deepest gratitude to each of you. This year has been filled with growth, learning, and numerous milestones that we should all be proud of.
Celebrating Our Achievements
Throughout the year, our students have demonstrated exceptional dedication and enthusiasm in their academic pursuits, extracurricular activities, and community involvement. We have seen impressive results in local and standardized tests, a significant increase in participation in our club, and countless acts of kindness and leadership within our school community.
The Energy Bus Journey
This year, we were excited to incorporate The Energy Bus by Jon Gordon into our school’s ethos. The book’s ten rules for fueling our lives with positive energy have resonated deeply with both our students and staff, fostering a culture of optimism, teamwork, and resilience. We’ve seen firsthand how the principles of The Energy Bus—from creating a positive vision to driving with purpose—have empowered our school community to overcome challenges and strive for excellence.
Our staff embraced these principles by participating in professional development sessions centered around The Energy Bus, which helped cultivate a more supportive and positive work environment. Our students, inspired by the book’s message, engaged in various activities and discussions that promoted a positive mindset and encouraged them to be “drivers of their own bus.”
Acknowledging Our Community
Our success would not be possible without the unwavering support of our families, teachers, and staff. Your commitment to fostering a positive and nurturing environment has been instrumental in helping our students thrive. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our teachers for their hard work and passion, our staff for their diligence, and our families for their continuous encouragement and involvement.
Looking Forward
As we prepare for the summer break, I encourage all students to take time to relax and recharge. Whether it’s spending time with family, exploring new hobbies, or simply enjoying the sunshine, summer is a wonderful opportunity to refresh and prepare for the upcoming school year. I also urge our students to continue reading and exploring educational activities to keep their minds active during the break.

Outstanding Lunch Balances
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We hope this message finds you well. We want to bring to your attention that some students currently have outstanding balances on their lunch accounts. If you have received a letter or email, please update your student's account. We understand that financial circumstances can vary, and we want to ensure that all students have access to nutritious meals throughout the school day.
To assist families, we would like to remind you that you can apply for free or reduced-price lunches through Bethesda's website or at www.nlappscloud.com. This program is designed to support families who may need assistance with meal costs. If you believe your family qualifies, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
Ensuring that your child's lunch account is up to date is essential for their well-being and academic success. Having funds available ensures they have access to the meals they need to stay focused and energized throughout the day.
If you have any questions about applying for free or reduced-price lunches or need assistance with your child's lunch account, please don't hesitate to contact our school office. If you have questions about your student's current charges, please contact Cafe manager at 770-381-4208. We are here to support you in any way we can.
Thank you for your attention to this matter and your continued partnership in providing the best possible support for our students.
Sincerely,
Kellie Huffman
