PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
Hello Eagle Crest Families!
The countdown is on! We’re just one week away from our Laps 4 Leadership fundraiser on October 24th at the Altona Track. Together, we’ve already raised $10,825, reaching 43% of our $25,000 goal—a fantastic achievement! But we’re not stopping now. With your continued support, we can hit our goal and unlock incredible opportunities for all our students.
What Laps 4 Leadership Makes Possible
Your donations directly fuel enriching experiences that make Eagle Crest special. Here are just a few of the many programs we are able to provide:
🌲 Rocky Mountain Raptor Rescue Experience – Bringing nature and wildlife education right to our students.
🎭 Colorado Shakespeare Festival – Inspiring young minds with live performances and interactive theater workshops.
📚 Extra Literacy Support – Helping every student thrive with targeted assistance.
🎃 BOOktober Books – Building excitement for reading with seasonal stories and take-home books.
These are the experiences that stay with our students and make learning meaningful. And with your help, we’ll continue to offer them to every Eagle Crest student, year after year.
Let’s Make a Big Push – Every Dollar Counts!
There’s still time to make a difference—and corporate matching can double your impact! Many employers will match your donations dollar for dollar, making your contribution go even further. Companies like Google, Apple, Pfizer, Ball Corporation, IBM, and AMD offer these matching programs. No amount is too small to be matched—every dollar helps us reach our goal!
Our Community in Action
Laps 4 Leadership is about more than raising funds—it’s about celebrating the strength of our community. We are proud of the dedication and heart our teachers, staff, and families bring every day to ensure every child at Eagle Crest receives the best possible education. Together, we honor the legacy of Laps, continuing to build on the foundation of enriching programs and memorable experiences.
Let’s rally this final week and cross the finish line strong! Thank you for all you do to support our students and our school—every gift, no matter the size, makes a lasting difference.
Warmly,
Amanda

DEAN OF STUDENTS' UPDATE
Hello Eagle Crest Families!
Next week is Classified Appreciation Week, and we want to express just how grateful we are for our Classified staff members. They are the unsung heroes of our educational community, playing an indispensable role in our school's success. We feel thankful for their dedication not just next week, but every week, as they continue to support our students and help our school thrive.
From our custodian team to our librarian, paraprofessionals in classrooms and special education, our campus supervisor, dedicated office staff, health clerk, nurse, kitchen staff, and before/after school care staff, they all share a deep commitment to the well-being and success of our students. Their collective effort helps our students learn and grow in an environment where they feel safe, supported, and valued.
If your child would like to recognize one of these staff members with a note of appreciation or a drawing, we encourage them to bring it in on Friday, October 25th. We would love to spread extra appreciation on that day! As we express our gratitude, let's remember that this appreciation extends throughout the entire year. Our school's success is truly a team effort, and we couldn't do it without them!
All the best,
Lindsey Cheney

MWEBAZA FOUNDATION UPDATE
Did you know that Eagle Crest has a partnership with a school in Uganda?!
The Mwebaza Foundation is an educational organization that partners schools in Colorado with schools in Uganda. Interested in learning more? Check out their website: https://www.mwebaza.org/
The new school year is off to a great start. All 1st - 5th grade students have heard presentations about Uganda and their partner schools. The Eagle Crest Mwebaza club has started! Clubs are led by teachers and staff members along with Mwebaza’s School Development Director, Hillari Hansen. We love starting the club each year by revisiting our favorite poem that teaches us the importance of using values like respect, patience, kindness, and appreciation as we work together.
This poem called: In Lak’ech, meaning, I am You, You are Me,
and originates from the Maya indigenous people
who have inhabited parts of Central and North America
for thousands of years.
I am You, You are Me
You are my other me.
If I do harm to you,
I do harm to myself.
If I love and respect you,
I love and respect myself.
HALLOWEEN PARADE
We are looking forward to our annual Halloween Parade! We are planning to host our parade on Thursday, October 31st at 2:15pm. The students will make a full lap around the school in their costumes while we all celebrate the return of this fun tradition. All families are welcome to join us as we march outside around the school.
All students are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes to school on Halloween and should plan to arrive with the full costume on and ready to go. Costumes must be school appropriate and not interfere with the learning environment. Please do not send students with anything violent (weapons, blood, etc.), or costumes that could be a safety hazard while marching. Blow up costumes and masks can only be worn during the parade. Individual teachers will send information home regarding classroom celebrations.
🇺🇸CALLING ALL VETERANS!🇺🇸
In honor of Veterans Day, Eagle Crest School warmly invites local veterans from our community to join us for a special moment during our morning announcements in November. We would be honored to have you lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance.
If you are a veteran or know someone who is, please reach out to Amanda Holden at holden_amanda@svvsd.org or call 303-485-6073 to schedule your visit. Your presence would mean the world to us as we pay tribute to your service.
