Superintendent Message
Springtime brings with it a renewed sense of energy and optimism—a season of growth, reflection, and opportunity. As the days grow longer and the world around us begins to bloom, we are reminded of the importance of nurturing not only our environment but also one another.
This month, as we celebrate Earth Day, we proudly recognize our schools' continued designation as Michigan Certified Green Schools—a reflection of our deep and ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability. Let us use this moment to recommit ourselves to being thoughtful stewards of our planet, working together to preserve its beauty and promise for future generations.
As we move toward the final months of the academic year, our focus remains clear: finishing strong and laying the foundation for a future full of possibility. Guided by our Strategic Plan and the competencies outlined in our Portrait of a Graduate, we are committed to creating learning environments that foster creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and resilience.
This work cannot be done alone. Now more than ever, it is essential that we stay united as a community—modeling kindness, compassion, and empathy for one another. These values are at the heart of who we are and what we hope to instill in every student. When we stand together, we not only enrich our schools, but we also help our children realize their potential and prepare them to thrive in a complex, ever-changing world.
To the outstanding Class of 2025—your journey is nearing an exciting milestone. Embrace every opportunity, celebrate your growth, and look ahead with confidence. Your energy, perseverance, and heart inspire us all, and we can’t wait to see the impact you will make.
As we enjoy the beauty of spring, let us also embrace the power of community and the promise of tomorrow—together.
Warm regards,
Bob

April is Stress Awareness Month
April is Stress Awareness Month—a reminder to prioritize mental well-being. With academic and daily demands, both students and staff should take intentional moments to reset, breathe, and practice mindfulness.
Taking small breaks makes a big difference. Step outside, take deep breaths, or do a quick mindfulness exercise—your well-being matters!
Stress Management Tips for Families
- Create a Relaxing Home Environment – Consider keeping spaces organized, incorporating soft lighting, or playing calming music to promote a peaceful atmosphere.
- Prioritize Family Time – Set aside time for activities like game nights, walks, or cooking together to strengthen connections and reduce stress.
- Encourage Open Conversations – Check in regularly with family members about their feelings and challenges, offering support and reassurance.
- Set Healthy Boundaries with Technology – Establish screen-free times, especially during meals and before bed, to encourage mindfulness and relaxation.
- Model Healthy Coping Strategies – Show your children positive ways to manage stress, such as exercising, journaling, or practicing gratitude
Stress Management Tips for Students
- Take Brain Breaks – Step away from studying every 30–45 minutes to refresh your mind and improve focus.
- Get Moving – Physical activity, even a short walk or stretching, can help release tension and boost mood.
- Practice Deep Breathing – Try inhaling for four counts, holding for four, and exhaling for four to reduce stress instantly.
- Stay Organized – Use a planner or to-do list to manage assignments and prevent last-minute panic.
- Limit Social Media & Screen Time – Taking breaks from screens can help reduce anxiety and improve overall well-being.

Men of Lincoln
The Men of Lincoln is an opportunity for men in the LCS community to engage and actively participate in supporting our youth while they attend school or extracurricular activities.
From Model all the way through the High School, we aim to have a positive role in showing our young people that we care and want to be there for them while in the district.
Whether you volunteer at one of the elementary schools during recess, help out our amazing staff at the middle school during lunch times, chaperone an after school program or just attend one of our games or concerts, the Men of Lincoln are here to support. We are always looking for additional volunteers to help out and be around our schools.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Jason Moore (moorej@lincolnk12.org)
✨Lil Splitter Tot Time & Lil Splitter Referral Program! ✨
Hey, Railsplitter families! We’re excited to launch Lil Splitter Tot Time, a fun, engaging way for our youngest future Railsplitters to connect, play, and start their Lincoln journey early! This special program is designed for children ages 1 - 3 and their guardians to play in our beautiful indoor athletic building. It is open to all families in the area.
But that’s not all! We’re also kicking off our Refer a Lil Splitter Program! Do you know a young family within our district with a new baby who will one day be a future Railsplitter? Help us connect with them! By referring a Lil Splitter, you're helping us build a strong, supportive community from the very start. They will receive a special gift for being a part of our Lincoln District!
Let’s work together to welcome the next generation of Railsplitters!
