The PPCSD Bombers Bulletin is a communication from Dr. Brian Timm, Superintendent of Schools. The Bombers Bulletin highlights information and events happening in the Pine Plains Central School District.

Hello PPCSD Students and Families!

We are excited to welcome our students back for the 2024-25 school year! We hope that your summer was filled with fun, relaxation and time well spent with family and friends.

We are ready to begin the new school year and hope that our students are also looking forward to the first day of school on Wednesday, September 4th.

A giant thank you to our phenomenal maintenance and custodial department for ensuring that our buildings and grounds are sparkling clean and in tip-top shape for the first day of school.

The administrative team and 12-month support staff have been busy all summer diligently planning for the arrival of all of our students; from our youngest learners at Cold Spring ELC to our soon-to-be graduates at Stissing Mountain Jr/Sr HS.

It is PPCSD's Mission to develop the whole child to be a lifelong learner and a productive member of the global community. We are eager to continue working on our mission together, with you and your students this coming school year.

Welcome Back!!

This week each of our building principals hosted events to welcome new students to their buildings. Students were able to participate in a building tour as well as fun activities designed to ease "First day at a new school" jitters.

On Tuesday, August 27th, Mrs. Fischetti, Cold Spring ELC Principal, hosted her "Watermelon Welcome" for new students in grades PreK through 1st.

On Wednesday, August 28th, Ms. Roberts held her annual "Picnic with the Principal" for the incoming 2nd graders as well as new students in grades 3-5 at Seymour Smith ILC.

Also on Wednesday, August 28th, Mr. Boyd and Mrs. Von Burg welcomed the incoming 6th grade class to Stissing Mountain Jr/Sr HS for 6th Grade Orientation. Students were able to locate the classrooms on their schedule, as well as find and practice opening their lockers.

Varsity and JV 2024 Fall Sports

Anyone interested in participating in Fall Sports for the 2024-2025 school year, must register on-line at www.familyid.com.

Family ID High School sports on-line registration opened July 26, 2024. With the exception of Varsity Football (which has been practicing since August 19th), all other high school sports practices began August 26th.

Modified 2024 Fall Sports

Family ID on-line registration for modified sports in grades 7 and 8 opened August 4, 2024. The modified sports season will begin September 4th. Modified coaches and practice schedules are to be announced.
