Principal Weekly Update to Families

Yelm Community Schools place a high priority on school attendance. Studies prove that daily attendance has a direct impact on student achievement. Our goal is to have every student arrive on time and attend a full day of school. To learn more about the Yelm Community Schools Attendance policy, click here.

Families living outside of the your school attendance area, it is time to renew your out of area request for the 2024–25 school year. The applicaton window opened Feburary 15. Requests must be received by March 15, 2023. There will be only one opportunity to submit in a request. Questions? Contact our district office.

• Wednesday, February 28: PTO will be surprising students with a Magic Show! Jeff Evans presents reading magic! All students will be provided popcorn while they enjoy the show!
• Thursday, February 29: No Popcorn today. PTO moved Popcorn Day to February 28 for students to enjoy during the Magic Show!

Yelm High School’s Drama Club presents "Seussical: The Musical." Performances are scheduled on February 23 & 24, and March 1 & 2, 2024. Check the website for times of evening and matinee performances. Tickets are available online. Prairie students will be treated to a brief portion of the program at Prairie on February 28!

• Friday, February 16: Second Annual Art Show featuring Prairie Artists, 5–7 p.m. inGenius! Art Gallery & Boutique, 207 1st St S, Yelm.

• Assembly, 8:40 a.m.
• After the assembly parents are invited meet with our Principal Mrs. Beach for "Coffee Chat with the Principal." There is no formal agenda planned. This will be an informal opportunity for parents to say "hello" or ask a quick lingering question about Prairie.
• Wednesday, February 28:
• Two presentations of Yelm High School's Drama Clubs "Seussical: The Musical."
